  We live in the West Kootenai region of British Columbia at a clean Glacier Lake called Slocan. The closest town has about 400 residents. It is a very peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. We have lake based recreation - swimming, canoeing, and fishing. We also have 4 nearby hot springs! My property is 1000m above sea level with an absolutely stunning view of Valhalla Provincial park across Slocan Lake. We are a homestead project and work toward a sustainable life-style. Look up Idaho Peak for awesome local hiking. We can see auto Peak from my property.

  Ajuda

  Wild plants are harvested and prepared as they come into fruition. Wild plant harvest and preparation can begin as early as March. I plan to start domestic plants insidde the housebthis week! We have chickens and Golden retrievers that need daily care and then there are other daily chores like cooking/cleaning.
  
  We will be building a water line from the creek once the snow melts. I will cut down some trees for firewood.
  Firewood will need to be processed and chopped. Fence building. Painting the house and the dog pen and the chicken coop. Taking care of chickens - and Golden Retriever puppies in April.
  
  
  We have a creek that runs through the property and that's where we get our water from.
  
  This is also where we have an outdoor bathtub. We call it a hillbilly bathtub because you have to light a fire underneath it! It's like a hot tub that cooks you but we're by the creek so you can add cold water
  
  Because we live off grid regular daily chores take longer than usual. So it's a good idea to enjoy yourself and what you are doing. This is Old World rustic

  Acomodação

  We have double and single foam beds so all our beds are mobile. We are like cats and sleep whatever we please. A tent is provided and there's the outside upstairs of the house, the inside upstairs of the house, and the downstairs.
  
  We provide the meals. However often workers prepare the meals and do the dishes. Everybody has free access to the garden and we sometimes cook on a fire in the evening.
  
  Our outdoor kitchen is very basic was a very strong propane fire stove.
  
  We provide beverages like tea coffee beer wine etc. Everyday we put together a new wildcrafted tea to share.
  
  Vegetable soups and salads are common. Rice and quinoa. If you like fish we can go fishing.

  Life is pretty simple for us on the mountain - overall it is a pretty relaxed lifestyle. And nobody is asked to overwork or work too hard. Some people are good at some things and some people prefer to do other things for example. It's not so much about productivity as sustainability.
  The is a bus that goes to Nelson several times a week.
