Hi I'm Jess! I'm from the middle of Wales, where there are more sheep than humans. I'm used to being fully emersed in the outdoors and I find I'm most happy when I'm living very simply. I love to travel and last year completed my first adventure with my partner across British Columbia using Workaway. It was incredible and we loved it so much that in the future we hope to settle down there. Shortly after the trip my partner joined the army, and I decided to apply for university. So this trip is my pre-uni solo adventure!

I'm going to be studying Wildlife Conservation in uni, and I hope to stay at places which are related to this. I'm very interested in organic farming methods, and living off grid - connected to nature as much as possible.

Quais são suas habilidades?
I'm very good with animals, I have always had cats and dogs (as you can see in my photos :)) and have experience with farm animals such as goats, poultry, alpaca and bison! I do have a bit of experience with horses but this is a skill I would love to develop more since I would love to have my own someday.

I have helped on many farm and gardening projects including: planting tree guilds, a lot of de-weeding, foraging, building bat boxes as well as building and staining a garden deck. I'm very eager to learn new skills on this trip!
I'm a keen baker (brownies being my best dish), I love to crochet and do creative projects

We had an incredible time at the Ranch, Danica and Ken treat everyone with lots of respect and are very welcoming. We had a great time at Ian's place, our main role was looking after the puppies/dogs while Ian was on the road. All the dogs are well trained and very friendly. We loved our stay with Briggy and her family! Everyone was extremely welcoming and although we were only here for a short stay we felt at home quickly. Briggy is an amazing baker and it was a pleasure to learn from her! All tasks were enjoyable to do and work was flexible. Anyone would be lucky to be able to stay here :)
