Haruna joined us over Christmas and New Year's Eve. She quickly integrated into our everyday life and mainly looked after our furry friends. She actively supported us when feeding the dogs and quickly took our little monsters into her heart. She cooked Asian food for us (which tasted very good) and was also very helpful in other ways like cutting
… read more firewood. The 12 days with her flew by. Unfortunately. We had good conversations and got to know Asian culture better. We would be very happy to welcome Haruna back and wish her all the best for her future. May her dreams come true. We will definitely stay in touch.

Since the winter weather not being fine for gardening, I enjoyed a lot to be with the loooovely friends. At this kindergarten, unpredictable things sometimes happens. we human all astonished but never be

I have never met such a kind and loving people, like Kirsten and Andreas. By the days with them, I fulfilled the energy and find new ideas for the future.

I really enjoyed my stay with Kirsten and the 'little monsters' and Nolly the cat! The garden was really pretty and great for hanging out with the dogs. All of the dogs are well looked after and loved, I'm glad that they found a home with Kirsten and Andreas.

… read more problems. Kirsten made sure I was well fed, even with my unusual eating making it harder to think of meals. Im happy I was able to help with looking after the 13 dogs when Kirsten had to leave, and re-painting the giant French bully outside. Kirsten taught me things about life in Germany and food, I liked listening to her talk about her culture.
I already miss being with the dogs, especially Abby and Sheri who I had made good friends with. Also Nolly who slowly warmed up to me and finally on my last night, after two weeks, he came and with cuddled me! Kirsten took me, Tom and Milow for a Trip to the North Sea, going to different spots around the Jade Bight.

Der Aufenthalt bei Kirsten war wunderbar. Wir hatten jede Menge Arbeit, die wir komplett selbst einteilen konnten und die auch Spass gemacht hat. Wir konnten ihr insbesondere bei der Pflege des Gartens helfen und haben die Hunde beaufsichtigt wenn Kirsten ihren kranken Mann besucht hat.
Das Zusammensein mit einem Rudel Hunden waren wir beide
… read more nicht gewöhnt, da die Hunde aber alle gut erzogen sind hat auch das problemlos geklappt. In einem solchen Rudel gibt es verschiedene Charaktere auf die man eingehen muss, was man aber mit etwas Empathie und Erfahrung schnell raus findet.
Kirsten ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber die mit viel Engagement und Liebe dieses Tierprojekt gestaltet hat. Das macht sie aktuell zusätzlich zu ihrem Beruf, was keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist und zeigt was für ein toller Mensch sie ist.
Die Zeit mit ihr war sehr angenehm, wir hatten eine Menge zu erzählen und das Essen was sie gekocht hat war fantastisch.

Gerda und Raffael kamen spontan und gerade zur rechten Zeit zu uns. Sie blieben 10 Tage und haben in dieser Zeit unser ganzes Grundstück auf Vordermann gebracht. Sie sind total fleißig, unkompliziert und sehr angenehme Gäste. Sie haben selbst gesehen, wo etwas gemacht werden muss und alles eigenständig erledigt. Raffael hat auch meine Rasenmäher
… read more wieder zum Laufen gebracht. Sie haben sich während meiner Abwesenheit liebevoll um unsere Hunde gekümmert, so dass ich bedenkenlos zu Andreas ins Krankenhaus fahren konnte. Sogar unsere zwei Halbstarken haben sich benommen. Gerda und Raffael sind eine Bereicherung für jeden Host. Emma kam für eine Woche zu uns.
Sie ist eine aufgeschlossene junge Frau. Emma hat sich sofort in unseren Alltag integriert.
Sie arbeitet am liebsten im Freien, so dass sie sich überwiegend um den Garten gekümmert hat.
Sie arbeitete immer selbstständig und sah sofort, wo Hand angelegt werden muss.

Emma hat auch ein Herz für Tiere. Unsere Fellnasen liebten sie sofort.

… read more week and lived in my own apartment. The dogs are very lovely but lively at the same time so that it never gets boring :)
The gardening work wasn´t really hard and fun at the same time and I had plenty of free time so that I could visit the North Sea and explore the surroundings as they live in a really green and beautiful place in the middle of nature. They both always made sure that I was fine and supplied me with the most delicious food. Their cooking is just amazing!
Kirsten also took me and Luigi (the other workawayer) to the North Sea once and we were allowed to help her picking blue berries.
I had a really good time with them. Thank you for this great experience!

In the surrounding area there are beautiful places near the sea. The owners took us to show us these beautiful places on Sunday. … read more mile to make sure I felt comfortable living there. I loved working in their garden and looking after the dogs; they have a lovely home and Andreas is always coming up with new garden project ideas. I also have to stress that Andreas cooks the most incredible food and I was looking forward to trying new authentically German (and often southern German) cuisine every day.
It can be a little annoying to get to but if you buy a Deutschland Ticket, all will be okay and Kirsten always helped me get to and from the station. The work is not too much at all, mostly helping around the garden, but Andreas and Kirsten are very helpful if you're not sure what to do and based on my experience it's actually a lot less work compared to other Workaways. The area is lovely if you love being in nature and getting a break from all the city noise, but I nevertheless travelled around Germany every weekend. The flat was also great, pretty big with its own kitchenette, bathroom (and shower), big living room area and bedroom. From the first evening, I felt like a part of the family and I will never forget the amazing month I spent living with Kirsten and Andreas. I wish them nothing but the best in the future!

Alice was with us for three weeks and supported us with our dogs and projects. She was a great help to us. She mowed the lawn, prepared the dog food every evening and together we built a wooden house from the foundation to the roof.

… read more Unfortunately the weather didn't always cooperate. She is strong and has good ideas to solve problems that arise. Alice is a great young woman. When she appears, the sun shines. She is always in a good mood and you can laugh a lot with her. But you can also have serious conversations with her. Alice is very uncomplicated. She eats everything. She tries out what she doesn't know and gets inspired by it. She cooked us a delicious carbonara that we were thrilled with. Alice is friendly, clean and tidy. It's nice to have her in the house. We have grown fond of her in that short time, we miss her and look forward to her visiting us again.

Juani kam Mitte Dezember zu uns und blieb für 3 Wochen. Er wurde ein Teil unserer Familie und wird hier immer willkommen sein.

In der Zeit, in der er hier war, hat er uns bekocht, einen alten Hühnerstall abgerissen, den Zaun entfernt und alles zersägt. Er hat einen alten Baum zu Brennholz verarbeitet, einen Rasenmäher zusammengebaut und eine Fototapete angebracht. Selbst der Dauerregen hat ihn nicht abgehalten.
Er hat sich um die Hunde unseres Vereins gekümmert, mit ihnen gespielt und beim Füttern und der medizinen Versorgung geholfen. Tom, Nico und Milow sind seine besonderen Freunde geworden.
Juani ist ein toller junger Mann und man kann mit ihm über alles reden. Ich habe sehr viel über sein Heimatland erfahren.
Er macht überhaupt keine Probleme im Haus, ist sauber, fleißig, angenehm, intelligent und immer respektvoll und freundlich. Wir vermissen ihn sehr, und wir freuen uns darauf, dass er uns bald wieder besucht.

… read more Kirsten have a beautiful home where they lovingly take care of their more than ten dogs, giving them all the attention and care they deserve. The dedication and commitment towards them is truly admirable. All this is possible because Andreas and Kirsten are excellent people. I spent three weeks with them and the only thing I felt was warmth and integration. They were always concerned about my well-being and trying to make me feel at home and also, always willing to teach me about their culture and the country. Because of this way of being, they are always willing to give you a hand, so do not hesitate to contact them if you would be interested in working here.
Beyond workaway, I created a very good bond with them, and I consider them good friends. I'm going to miss them and I'll always be there for whatever they need.
