Ciao ! Mi chiamo Federico ho 28 anni e sono project manager e ricercatore per l'Università di Bologna nell'ambito di energie rinnovabili e sostenibilità. Da qualche hanno vivo in Toscana da solo e mi occupo della mia casa di famiglia. Sono un nomade digitale e dopo anni di movimento in diversi luoghi ho scelto la tranquillità e la meraviglia delle colline toscane.
Vivo in una zona molto silenziosa, tra le colline a confine tra la Val d'Orcia e le Crete Senesi, nello specifico in un antico borgo etrusco chiamato Pompana. Siamo a 30 min da Montalcino (terra di Brunello e ottimo vino), Pienza, Siena e altre bellissime città toscane e luoghi e panorami incredibili che potremo visitare insieme.
Il mio progetto è rendere la mia casa di famiglia un luogo accogliente e ordinato per ospitare turisti in maniera eco friendly, a contatto con la natura e più sostenibile possibile evitando sprechi. Infatti, la casa è alimentata da 100% energia solare con numerosi pannelli solari affiancati da un sistema di accumulo di batterie. Inoltre, è circondata da un grande giardino e un uliveto con 60 alberi di cui mi prendo cura e da cui produco un po' di olio.
La casa è stata costruita negli anni 70 dallo zio di mia madre dalla quale lei ha ereditato, e a sua volta io. Da qualche anno purtroppo, mia madre non c'è più e quindi ho deciso io di continuare il progetto di rinnovamento della casa e del giardino da solo. Per questo motivo sto cercando persone che possano aiutarmi con le loro skills e i loro diversi punti di vista a implementare il mio progetto. I miei Workawayers ideali sono persone che amano la natura e la vita in campagna, ritmi semplici dettati dal sole e dalle stagioni e che amano chiacchierare e collaborare su progetti manuali insieme.
Hello! My name is Federico, I am 28 years old and I am a project manager and researcher for the University of Bologna in the field of renewable energy and sustainability. I have been living alone in Tuscany for a few years now and I take care of my family home. I am a digital nomad and after years of moving around to different places, I chose the tranquillity and beauty of the Tuscan hills.
My home is located in a very quiet area, in the hills on the border between Val d'Orcia and Crete Senesi, specifically in an ancient Etruscan village called Pompana. We are 30 minutes from Montalcino (land of Brunello and excellent wine), Pienza, Siena and other beautiful Tuscan cities and incredible places and views that we can visit together.
My project is to make my family home a welcoming and tidy place to host tourists in an eco-friendly way, in contact with nature and as sustainable as possible, avoiding waste. In fact, the house is powered by 100% solar energy with numerous solar panels supported by a battery storage system. In addition, it is surrounded by a large garden and an olive grove with 60 trees that I take care of and from which I produce a little oil.
The house was built in the 1970s by my mother's uncle, from whom she inherited it, and in turn I inherited it from her. Unfortunately, my mother passed away a few years ago, so I decided to continue the renovation project of the house and garden on my own. For this reason, I am looking for people who can help me with their skills and different points of view to implement my project. My ideal Workawayers are people who love nature and country life, simple rhythms dictated by the sun and the seasons, and who enjoy chatting and collaborating on manual projects together.

Io personalmente posso insegnare alcuni piatti tipici italiani come la pasta fata a mano, la pizza
(abbiamo un forno a legna) il ragù o altre delizie casalinghe italiane, alcune nozioni sull'energia e sostenibilità, discutere di geopolitica, posso insegnare l'italiano, so parlare bene in inglese e spesso mi diletto a fare alcune opere artistiche con materiali riciclati.
SOLO A FEBBRAIO dovrò potare i miei 60 ulivi e verrà un esperto a insegnarmi e a spiegarmi come si fa, sarebbe una ottima opportunità per i Workawayers venire per imparare a potare gli ulivi con le tecniche di esperti locali per gli ulivi a vaso-policonico, una forma che l'ulivo deve mantenere per massimizzare la produzione. In più ci insegneranno alcune nozioni base sugli ulivi e io potrò raccontare della mia raccolta olive annuale che facciamo a ottobre/novembre.
In generale sarà la natura e le colline toscane insegnare e dare i veri benefici dello scambio culturale. La casa si trova in un luogo remoto tra le colline, immersi nel verde e nel silenzio. Oltre a casa mia ci sono alcuni vicini locali e non che hanno una casa, ma i panorami e le stelle di notte saranno i veri insegnati del vostro soggiorno.
I can personally teach some typical Italian dishes such as handmade pasta, pizza
(we have a wood-fired oven), ragù and other Italian home-cooked delicacies, as well as some basics about energy and sustainability. I can discuss geopolitics, teach Italian, speak English well and often enjoy making art from recycled materials.
ONLY IN FEBRUARY will I have to prune my 60 olive trees, and an expert will come to teach me and explain how to do it. It would be a great opportunity for Workawayers to come and learn how to prune olive trees using the techniques of local experts for polyconic-shaped olive trees, a shape that the olive tree must maintain to maximise production. In addition, they will teach us some basic knowledge about olive trees, and I will be able to tell you about our annual olive harvest, which takes place in October/November.
In general, it will be nature and the Tuscan hills that teach and provide the real benefits of cultural exchange. The house is located in a remote spot in the hills, surrounded by greenery and silence. Apart from my house, there are a few local and non-local neighbours who have houses, but the views and the stars at night will be the real teachers during your stay.

In generale ho bisogno di una mano per fare attività in giardino e all'esterno della casa. Tuttavia, in base alle capacità e agli interessi degli Workawayers fornirò in accordo con loro, le attività specifiche da fare ogni giorno. Le attività in giardino ovviamente saranno da accordare in base alla stagione e al meteo, qualora non ci sia la possibilità di lavorare in giardino faremo attività all'interno della casa o di progettazione di prossimi lavori. Tutti i lavori saranno pianificati e accordati prima dell'arrivo in modo da avere un piano programmato delle attività d afre insieme e da soli durante il soggiorno.
GIARDINO E ATTIVITA' ALL'ESTERNO: Tra i lavori da fare in giardino o all'aperto posso essere: creare qualche attacco d'arte (sono molto appassionato nell'utilizzo di diversi materiali spesso vecchi e riciclati per creare qualche opera d'arte), verniciare mobili in legno, creare e progettare opere DIY (pianificare, comprare materiali, prodotti o per me), riparare cose, tagliare l'erba e la legna, potare alcune piante e alberi (a febbraio verrà un tecnico esperto che mi insegnerà a potare gli ulivi), concimare la terra, muovere e bonificare alcune parti di giardino, pulire alcune zone del giardino con appositi strumenti, scattare foto, piantare fiori e erbe aromatiche, installare luci da esterno, decorare e rendere tutto il giardino più carino e curato :)
ATTIVITA' ALL'INTERNO: Qualora non vi sia la possibilità di lavorare in giardino o all'esterno (causa meteo), ci sono alcune attività che possono essere fatte all'interno. Anche qua DIPENDE MOLTO DALLE CAPACITA' e possono variare:, pulizia e riordine interno, verniciatura di interni o mobili, attività digitali (gestire le pagine social e crear e contenuti (posts, reels, tiktok..), programmare o migliorare il sito, creare campagne di sensibilizzazione a temi inerenti da postare sui social, progettare nuove opere DIY, acquistare materiali e svolgere commissioni per i progetti DIY, Ovviamente, mantenere pulito e sistemare i propri spazi non fa parte delle ore di lavoro, cosi come cucinare passare momenti di svago assieme.
In generale cerco persone che siano già esperte con lavori in giardino, a lavorare con le mani, ma anche che ha solo capacità o interessa ad aiutarmi con attività digitali, che mi possano aiutare con i social media, o altre skills digitali utili. CERCO persone che siano collaborative, curiose e felici di vivere con me, che siano abituate agli spazi in natura e alla campagna.
In general, I need help with activities in the garden and outside the house. However, depending on the skills and interests of the Workawayers, I will agree with them on the specific activities to be done each day. The activities in the garden will obviously depend on the season and the weather. If it is not possible to work in the garden, we will do activities inside the house or plan future work. All work will be planned and agreed upon before arrival so that we have a schedule of activities to do together and on our own during your stay.
GARDEN AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: Tasks to be done in the garden or outdoors may include: creating some art (I am very passionate about using different materials, often old and recycled, to create works of art), painting wooden furniture, creating and designing DIY projects (planning, buying materials and products for me), repairing things, mowing the lawn and cutting wood, pruning some plants and trees (in February, an expert technician will come and teach me how to prune olive trees), fertilising the soil, moving and clearing some parts of the garden, cleaning some areas of the garden with special tools, taking photos, planting flowers and herbs, installing outdoor lights, decorating and making the whole garden more beautiful and well-kept :)
INDOOR ACTIVITIES: If it is not possible to work in the garden or outdoors (due to weather conditions), there are some activities that can be done indoors. Again, this DEPENDS VERY MUCH ON SKILLS and may vary: cleaning and tidying indoors, painting interiors or furniture, digital activities (managing social media pages and creating content (posts, reels, TikTok, etc.), programming or improving the website, creating awareness campaigns on topics related to post on social media, designing new DIY projects, purchasing materials and running errands for DIY projects. Obviously, keeping your own space clean and tidy is not part of your working hours, nor is cooking or spending leisure time together.
In general, I am looking for people who are already experienced in gardening and working with their hands, but also those who have the skills or interest to help me with digital activities, social media, or other useful digital skills. I am looking for people who are collaborative, curious, and happy to live with me, who are used to being in nature and the countryside.

In base a quante persone ci sono a casa, posso offrire un appartamento condiviso con tutto l'occorrente, cucina, wifi, bagno privato o condiviso, soggiorno per rilassarsi, ampissimo giardino, piscina (se aperta d'estate), tv. Principalmente d'estate la casa è per affitti brevi per turisti, quindi l'accomodation è molto ospitale proprio per natura della casa.
La camera da letto di solito è un letto matrimoniale o un letto singolo (a seconda della disponibilità), ma provvederò a inviare foto prima del vostro arrivo cosi da avere subito un'idea del luogo per dormire. Se hai un sacco a pelo o altro per dormire super, se no fornisco io lenzuola e coperte (poi quando vai via mi dai una mano a pulire la stanza e gli spazi comuni).
Per colazioni, pranzi e cene di solito mangeremo assieme ma anche ognuno per sè dipende da come ti senti. Se hai skills in cucina sarebbe molto bello condividere alcuni momenti in cucina, io so fare la pasta a mano, la pizza, ragù e molti piatti italiani "della nonna", anche torte e molto altro, mi piace molto cucinare e sperimentare :)
Fuori ci sono spazi per rilassarsi, leggere un libro su una panchina e altro per una perfetta atmosfera toscana nella natura e nel silenzio.

Depending on how many people are staying, I can offer a shared flat with everything you need, including a kitchen, Wi-Fi, private or shared bathroom, living room to relax in, large garden, swimming pool (if open in summer), and TV. Mainly in summer, the house is available for short-term rentals for tourists, so the accommodation is very welcoming.
The bedroom usually has a double bed or a single bed (depending on availability), but I will send you photos before your arrival so that you can get an idea of where you will be sleeping. If you have a sleeping bag or other sleeping gear, great, otherwise I will provide sheets and blankets (then when you leave, you can help me clean the room and common areas).
For breakfast, lunch and dinner, we usually eat together, but you can also eat on your own, depending on how you feel. If you have cooking skills, it would be great to share some time in the kitchen. I know how to make pasta by hand, pizza, ragù and many Italian 'grandma's' dishes, as well as cakes and much more. I really enjoy cooking and experimenting :)
Outside, there are spaces to relax, read a book on a bench and more, for a perfect Tuscan atmosphere surrounded by nature and silence.

La città più vicina è a 15 minuti di auto. Per raggiungere la casa c'è una strada sterrata: avere un'auto ti dà la libertà di esplorare, ma posso anche darti un passaggio se necessario, tenendo presente che durante il giorno ho il mio lavoro. Il tempo libero può essere trascorso facendo escursioni, esplorando i villaggi, rilassandosi in giardino, cucinando o godendosi la campagna.
House rules:
La vita è rilassata e amichevole. I workawayers aiutano con progetti pratici, giardinaggio, le altre attività riportate sopra, secondo quanto concordato in precedenza. Non sono ammessi ospiti non registrati. Rispettate la casa, gli spazi comuni e i vicini. Siate pronti a lavorare in modo collaborativo, aiutate a mantenere la casa sempre in ordine e pulita.
The nearest town is a 15-minute drive away. There is a dirt road leading to the house: having a car gives you the freedom to explore, but I can also give you a lift if necessary, bearing in mind that I have my own job during the day. Free time can be spent hiking, exploring villages, relaxing in the garden, cooking or enjoying the countryside.
House rules:
Life is relaxed and friendly. Workawayers help with practical projects, gardening, and the other activities mentioned above, as agreed in advance. Unregistered guests are not allowed. Please respect the house, common areas, and neighbours. Be prepared to work collaboratively and help keep the house tidy and clean at all times.

Sono un nomade digitale e lavoro da remoto. C'è sempre una buona connessione a internet, anche se qualche volta con qualche temporale molto forte a volte la connessione rallenta, ma succede poche volte all'anno.
