  Hello!
  My name's Sokear. I am a founder the school which is located in Kampongkdei , Siem Reap province, Cambodia. Kampongkdei is the name of a village which is 60KM away from Siem Reap city to the east. It is well known by many peoples as it is a small remote area with an ancient bridge that was built at the same time to AngkorWat. The school is just 400 meters from the bridge. The school provides English language, computer lesson, and life skills to students from its start.
  In April 2023 the school have set up an organic vegetable farm to produce safe vegetables for daily consumption and for a playground for students and a relaxing place for volunteers in free times from teaching so we need volunteers who like working on safe and organic vegetable sector.
  Generally, we are in remote areas and live simple lives as other villagers. So if you are a person who is adventurous, down to earth, like dirty hands, live as a local, then you are welcome so before applying please be informed that the school provides you less comfortable because the school is in the remote local village so we live in a very simple way.

  You will learn more about Cambodia and our people through the conversation that occurs in the classroom. On the other hand, as the school closes at the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, you can travel around the school to see the villages and countrysides by walking or cycling which is the best way to interact with local peoples, finding our daily living and culture. Cambodian people are friendly, they are happy to answer your questions.
  As we can accept 4 volunteers at the same time, you have a chance to meet other volunteers that come from the other parts of the world to exchange our skills and thoughts to learn from each other in respect ways.

  Ajuda

  Volunteers can choose the time for teaching English in 3 different session morning from 7am to 10am, afternoon from 1pm to 4pm, and in the evening from 5pm to 7pm. Morning and afternoon sessions are specifically for volunteers who like teaching kids age from 6 to 12 years old. And in the evening session is for volunteers who like teaching teenagers and adults. It mean that in the evening session many students can speak some English.

  Acomodação

  With a new building we have a big room with bathroom that fit for 3 to 4 volunteers at our school. We provide two times meals, lunch and dinner. All teachers and volunteers join meals all together at school.
  In case, volunteers are vegetarians they have to cook by themselves we don't know how to prepare vegetarian food. They can go to buy fresh vegetable or meat from the local markets which is 200m from the school. We have a kitchen where they can cook themselves if they miss their home food.

  At the weekend we don't have classes so you can travel anywhere you want but you have to make sure that you are able to comeback and provide the class on time during the week days. If you like the view of the village, we will organize cycling around with village for you led by the school.
