*I'm living in Siem Reap, Cambodia & work here. (Update: 19th August, 2025)

Until last February, I had worked as an English teacher for children at kindergartens in Japan over for 3 years. Now, I'd love to explore the world (Particularly, Ireland) more, optimistically compare the life in Japan with other places, to improve my English skills further, interact with local people & kids in the different countries & experience new things.
Speaking of Ireland, I studied English & did a 1st homestay in Dublin 10 years ago. I've literally never forgotten the lovely memories there & I've become into Irish culture so much. (*For example, I love the films by John Carney, River Dance, Guinness & Magners.) After having stayed in Dublin, I've traveled to 11 countries/regions.
I am an open-minded individual, eager to use my linguistic abilities, have collaborative nature, & problem solving skills to explore my careers. I'm always impressed by beautiful nature, arts & adorable stuff.

Quais são suas habilidades?
As I have much experience about working & volunteering for children, I'm confident about getting along with kids (Specifically, aged 3 ~ 15), the ways to treat them & teaching skills. I'm good at Japanese calligraphy & Japanese paper-craft arts (origami). *I'm actually interested in studying child psychology & always general psychology is what I've been focusing on for making myself become better & happier.
I also worked at the airport in Tokyo as a member of the multi-lingual ground staff for 2 years.
Whilst I stayed in Australia for 2 months as a working holiday, I taught Japanese language to Australian students online & worked as an English tutor for a 4 year-old Japanese girl.
I used to play the electronic piano for 10 years, badminton for 6 years & swim for 4 years.

When I was 6 years old, my mother took me to the cinema to see "Harry Potter & Philosopher's Stone" then I was literally fascinated by the film. After that, I started getting interested in English, British & Irish cultures, English films, shows & music, differences from my country Japan, world's history & European historical architectures.
My current hobbies are learning English (Especially, slangs & different accents) by YouTube or Instagram & yoga. I used to get into figure skating for watching & doing. I have a lovely parakeet aged 10 & love animals. I also have 2 sweetest nieces who are 3 & 5 years old. I like to play chess, Mario Kart & Minecraft with my friends. I am a big fan of Japanese noodle (ramen, udon & soba), tea & potatoes!

I stayed here about for 3 weeks (28th January~14th February, 2025). The whole experience was amazing as I extended my stay. (*I was supposed to be there only for 2 weeks.) I stayed at the 2nd school with 2 Cambodian teachers. They were friendly & always cared about me. We sometimes had dinner & an interesting conversation together. When a festival… read more took place in pagoda near the school, the Cambodian teachers took me there by motorcycle & we had much fun.
My work schedule was teaching 3 classes at 3~6 pm on Mondays~Fridays. Although there weren't any trainings in advance or specific lesson plans, I think I did my best for my students as I have some experiences to teach children English. I used the textbook to teach English grammar, had free conversations, played some games & activities in English, & so on. If you have never taught English or aren't confident of your English skills (*more than conversational level), it would be a little bit challenging honestly. However, I would recommend the Work Awayers if they're interested in working here, & would like to experience something new & special.
The all students were lovely & I was even impressed when they tried to speak to me in Japanese. Even after I got back to Japan, I've been receiving messages or video calls from my students, which makes me can't stop missing them.
For my 2nd & 3rd weeks, I had the other Work Awayers (*volunteer teachers). We got close & often explored the village by bike or walk to visit pagodas & buy coffee in our free time. During the weekends, Mr. Sokear made a plan for us, like a day trip. I didn't have much time to spend with Mr. Sokear as I mainly stayed at the 2nd school, but he was considerate all the time. I had a lovely time when we all had dinner & drank beer together at times, went for a day trip & meditated (*like yoga) after class. I appreciate Mr. Sokear to give me such a great opportunity to immerse myself in the real suburb of Siem Reap & interact with the local people.
I was enough satisfied with the accommodation, but the life was very interesting & way too different from where I live. If you're a curious & open-minded person, you would be able to enjoy every moment like I did.
Lastly, thank you so much for Mr. Sokear & the Cambodian teachers who got involved with me. Hopefully, I'd love to visit here again when I go back to Cambodia near in the future.

I stayed here for 3 weeks. As I had a bad experience in the previous Work Away, Donna & her family welcomed me such as one of their family members and they literally made rest of my days in Ireland.
