Well what can I say. Wow this is truly a unique experience and yes I would recommend to a friend.
Firstly I would like to say that these guys are truly super hosts, they have had some ridiculous number of workerwayers/woofers, near 2 or 3 HUNDRED. No joke.
I stayed for about 2 weeks and learnt heaps about rural aussie life, worked on the quad
… read more bikes, fed the cows, drove a telehandler, took down fences, laid a bricks wall, marked lambs and even did some sheep crutching (shearing) just to name a few things... Stunning sunrises/sets and saw lots of wildlife. We (me and a couple of others) were well fed...we even had some honey from Lindsey's Beehives. Well it is a fair dinkum rural aussie farm...so not the most hygienic place, including the woofers(workawayers) room/beds. Expect to work hard and get your hands, clothes, face and well everything dirty. Sometimes we had to work on limited info/instruction but hey. If you don't like cigarette smoke this is not the place to go.

ive been at the farm for almost 2 weeks and it was amazing !! lindsey and cheril are amazing people that from the first moment make me feel like home and the work was fun as well

A real true blue Aussie experience. An honest days work and always a fun time at the end. Legendary pool tournaments and plenty of laughter. All around a pleasure for those willing to work hard and wanting to see the real outback, this place is a wonder to behold and fair dinkum place to spend some time.

We spent 10 days at Simon's place and it was a nice experience.
The tasks we did were quite diverse, from plowing to sanding down furniture to be painted, or doing compost. Our main task was to "rehabilitate" a hen house. We didn't do much of gardening, except watering the seeds.

… read more working at 7 until 12. So you have all the afternoon free ! And if it's raining too much to work, it might become a board game day ;)
The house is always full of volunteers, so it's good fun, but don't expect to much privacy at the volunteers' house. Also, the food is vegetarian and good (everyone cooks and helps) ! If you are in need of meat, no worries, there are parilla not far from the farm :)

We got to stay with Lindsay and cheryl for 3 weeks and it was so good! We loved The work and have learned a lot from them. Good food (and a lot of it), pool table, quad bikes and so on.

I got to stay at this farm for a week and a half, and would have loved to stay longer, but something came up and I had to leave. Lindsay and Cheryl were awesome people, and I am very lucky to be able to stay with them. The work that they gave me and the other backpackers here was varied and interesting. The hours were long, but with not much else to do, the work was rewarding and not too back breaking. I got plenty of time to relax at night, and the food was good, with plenty to eat.
