I had a wonderful 11 months with this amazing family. Thanks to them, my working holiday in Oslo became an unforgettable experience. I learned so much about language, Norwegian and German culture, household tasks, and other small tips of daily life.
The role you would take on here is simply an extension of the household responsibilities you would

If you have a passion for food and a desire to improve your cooking skills, this will definitely be a plus—Markus will be more than happy to share his knowledge with you! Personally, I really enjoyed the opportunity to explore pescatarian recipes, which was super healthy and new for me.
Since they are dedicated to making the most of their weekdays and holidays, you'll have the chance to join them or stay at home with their adorable cat and rabbit to keep things in order. And I remember they were also very considerate of my part-time job, allowing me to work three days a week while making sure I never felt pressured.
The house is located in a peaceful area with great access to the city center. I was able to reach most of my destinations using the city’s rental bikes, which made exploring Oslo even more enjoyable.
Anyway,,, if you're interested, don’t hesitate to reach out to them! They are incredibly kind, welcoming, and supportive.
Once again, thank you all so so much for everything. I hope our paths will cross again somewhere in the future!

Mia and Line stayed with us for a couple of months. We really enjoyed having them with us. We are very grateful thay they chose us as their host familty for their stay here in Oslo and wish them all the best for the next months and many good workaway experiences.

We stayed with the family for two month in autumn 2023. Even though we landed at midnight they came to get us from the train station. Really fast we felt like being home. The youngest child was like a little sibling to us. We met both grandparents, who were also very nice and helped with the tasks.
We had a very good communication about WhatsApp
… read more with the parents and could talk about every problem or other things with them.
We almost felt like being part of the family.
It didn’t felt like working , because firstly we were able to divide the tasks between us and secondly they were only cooking, buying food and keeping the house clean. We were completely free in the weekends, but also in the afternoons we had much time for us. It was really easy to get to the inner city within 15 minutes, but it was also only 20 minutes to the Sognsvann lake with beautiful nature around.
There is a lot of stuff you can do in Oslo and we were never really bored in the two months we stayed.
Although we did a lot with the family, like playing with the younger sibling, cards with the parents or going to the sauna twice.
We are very thankful that they took us together, because like that it wasn’t so boring in our free time and we always had each other.
We really enjoyed our time there and are planning to come back.

I was warmly welcomed into this beautiful family and home right from the start.

Since the work, was only doing the household and cooking, you won't feel like you're working at all, but rather living as a member in a family.
You will be living in a lovely, big, modern house only a few minutes away from Oslo and a few minutes away from the breathtaking beauty of Nordmarka. You basically get all the things that Norway has to offer at once, which I used to its' full potential (Hiking, skiing, ice bathing, the city center, museums, bars, the Oslo Fjord)
For me, it was the perfect workaway experience, just as I imagined it. Kristina, Marcus and the kids have won my heart to the point that I'm already thinking about revisiting them.
If you get a chance to stay with them, do it!
Also, I recommend going on a road-trip on the weekend (since you'll always be totally free on weekends) and just drive along all the beautiful nature of Norway!!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I had a great time in Oslo this winter helping around. I choose Norway for study reasons and I was not disappointed at all.
The family members were lovely, the cat very cute and the house really welcoming.
I learned a lot about the Norwegian culture and way of life even though I was in a German household. Kristina and Marcus were definitely
… read more helping with that. They were always giving me some tips, some places to visit, some stuffs to do… They even took me to the opera twice. It was amazing and absolutely enriching as a former ballet dancer.
I was mainly in charge of tasks such as housekeeping, grocery shopping, cooking and sometimes looking after the younger child. To help me progress in cooking they were making weekly plans with German, Italian and Norwegian receipts in English. I also had the occasion to make them discover some typical French dishes too during my stay. When you get a busy life it’s often messy but it’s part of the charm of this family !
I had the chance to meet the grandparents that were coming to visit them. They were really nice and I could also exchange a lot with them as they were home more often. They were doing a part of the chores which was really helpful. Everybody in the family is quite easy-going so I appreciated being around them all along my 2 months stay.
With the help of everybody, I improved my English speaking skills a lot which helped me achieve my goal. I’m really thankful for everything and I greatly recommend this workaway.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I was thrilled to receive Kristina’s invitation to join her family in Oslo as it’s been my long-held dream to visit Norway. I had a great time, everything was perfect with this workaway - 5 stars!
Their house is modern, spacious and warm. The plentiful food was healthy and with variety.
My main tasks were housekeeping and cooking. I was given a
… read more weekly dinner plan with recipes. Thanks to their encouragement I learnt to confidently cook German, Italian and Norwegian cuisine.
It’s interesting for me to observe Germans living in Norway and how a professional couple managed their family life and their careers. We had a good rapport, mutual understanding and communication.
I enjoyed the changing of seasons with the different sports like cycling, hiking and ice skating. A bike allowed me to explore this famous city on weekends, going to the buzzing city centre or retreating to nature to marvel at the surrounding beauty.
The grandparents were very kind and helpful. When they were visiting, my tasks were halved! I was so touched by Monica’s generosity, especially taking me sightseeing, happily talking with me in German knowing that I love the language and was keen to practise.
It’s worth mentioning they set a good example as the Norwegians did. Showing me how to be tough, and not be bothered by the weather, rain or snow, windy or cold. How to dress for the weather, bike in the dark and jog - even in the rain and snow!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

June stayed with our family of 5 for almost 3 months in 2022. It was really a pleasure to have her with us. Francesca stayed with us for a couple of weeks in September 2022. She is very easy to communicate with and is a friendly, polite and independant young woman.
