Hello, I’m Francisco, guardian of this place.
I live here, in the Mayan jungle, together with my two Belgian Malinois dogs. Years ago, I chose to leave behind the rush of city life to care for this piece of land, listen to the forest, and learn from its wisdom.

I believe that nature has its own language, and when we take the time to listen to it, we also begin to hear ourselves.
It was born from that calling — a place to heal, reconnect, and remember the simplicity of life.

I like to share this space with people who are on their own path of transformation, or who simply need a breath of peace.
Here, time slows down, life is simple, and every day brings a new lesson from the jungle.

If you feel called to live close to the Earth, help with your hands, live without hurry, and reconnect with yourself and nature — I welcome you with open arms.

Our space is a private natural reserve in the Mayan jungle of Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, created with the intention of protecting the natural environment and developing a simple way of living in harmony with the jungle.

This is not a hotel, hostel, conventional campsite or tourist resort.

It is a place in development.

The vision is to create, little by little, simple spaces within the jungle where people who are looking for a different way of living can come to reconnect with nature, silence, themselves and the deeper dimensions of life.

The philosophy of this place is influenced by Buddhist principles such as mindfulness, compassion, respect for all living beings, simplicity and awareness of our relationship with nature.

I am the guardian of this land, and I am looking for people who would like to participate in this process.

    🌿 What are we creating?

The long-term vision is to develop small, simple and respectful spaces within the jungle where people can eventually come to stay, meditate, contemplate, learn, rest and reconnect with nature.

We don't want to transform the jungle into something artificial.

We want to learn how to live here while respecting the trees, plants, animals, water, soil and all the living beings that already inhabit this place.

We have beautiful cenotes and Puerto Morelos beach really near
Is a good place to stop rest and continue your journey

  • Ajuda

    Ajuda

    The work can include:

    Cleaning and maintaining the property.

Keeping existing spaces functional and organized.

    Opening and maintaining jungle paths.

Preparing new areas without unnecessarily damaging the vegetation.

    Developing spaces for future visitors.

    Permaculture projects.

    Ecological gardening.

    Bioconstruction and simple natural structures.

Working with natural and locally available materials.

    Maintaining outdoor and camping areas.

Planting and caring for trees and plants.

    General repairs and maintenance.

Helping develop new ideas and projects for the reserve.

The projects will change according to the season, the needs of the place and the people who are here.
    Working hours

    The expected contribution is:

5 hours per day, 5 days per week.

    You will have:

    2 days off every week.

The exact schedule can be discussed according to the weather, the project we are working on and the needs of the reserve.

The important thing is responsibility and commitment to the agreed work.

🌱 How long should you stay?

For your first experience, I recommend staying one week.

One week is enough to experience the environment and understand whether this way of life is right for you.

If both sides feel comfortable and there is an ongoing project that requires more time, a longer stay may be possible.

Any extension must be agreed upon by both sides and will depend on the project, the needs of the reserve and the availability of the space.

🌎 Who is this experience for?

I am looking for people who:

    Respect nature and animals.

    Are comfortable with simple living.

Can spend time alone without needing constant entertainment.

    Are responsible and independent.

Are willing to work with their hands.

    Don't mind getting dirty.

Are interested in permaculture or ecological living.

    Are interested in bioconstruction.

Are interested in meditation, Buddhism, spirituality or personal development.

    Want to learn new skills.

Are willing to share what they know.

    Can cooperate with other people.

    Respect silence and personal space.

Understand that this is a natural environment, not a resort.

You don't need to be an expert.

Curiosity, willingness to learn and a good attitude are more important than having professional skills.

    🏕️ Life in the jungle

    Living here means living simply.

I can provide the space and basic infrastructure, but I cannot offer the comforts of a hotel or conventional accommodation.

Depending on availability, volunteers can have:

A place to set up their own tent.

A roofed area to protect themselves from rain.

    A hammock for sleeping.

    Basic bathroom and shower facilities.

    Water from a well.

    Electricity.

    Internet.

    Access to the surrounding jungle.

You should genuinely enjoy nature and be comfortable with a rustic lifestyle.

There are mosquitoes, insects, humidity, heat, rain and the normal conditions of a tropical jungle.

Wildlife is part of our environment. We are guests in their home, and we must learn to coexist with them respectfully.

    Food and self-sufficiency

Volunteers are responsible for their own food.

We do not currently provide meals.

This is also part of the experience.

When there is more than one volunteer, I encourage people to develop a spirit of cooperation: organizing food purchases together, preparing meals together when appropriate, sharing knowledge and helping one another.

You can cook for yourself when you want solitude, or cook together when you feel like sharing.

The objective is not to create a service where someone takes care of everything for you.

The objective is to learn to take responsibility for your own needs while also learning how to cooperate with others.

  • Algo mais...

    Algo mais...

We are on a tourist route due to the large number of cenotes and eco-tourist parks that can be visited a few kilometers away and by public transport. The beach of Puerto Morelos, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mexican Caribbean, is only 30 km from the campsite 🏕️ and you can also go by public transport to spend a great day at the beach and get to know the town of Puerto Morelos. They can also take advantage of their free time to practice yoga or Mindfulness.

    Water must be used responsibly.

    Trees must be protected.

    Animals must be respected.

    Waste must be managed carefully.

    Natural resources are limited.

We want to learn how to live with less and appreciate what is already here.

🪷 A different way of living

Modern life can be extremely fast and demanding.

Cities and towns provide many conveniences, but they can also distance us from nature, silence, ourselves and from one another.

This space is an attempt to explore another possibility.

    A simpler life.

    A slower life.

A life where you can work with your hands, cook your own food, walk barefoot on the earth, watch the stars, listen to the jungle and have time to simply be.

The Buddhist influence here is not about requiring anyone to follow a religion.

It is about cultivating awareness, compassion, simplicity, respect and a conscious relationship with ourselves and the world around us.

🌳 You are not coming to a finished project

This is perhaps the most important thing to understand.

This place is being created now.

You will not arrive at a finished retreat center with everything already built.

You will arrive at a place where there is still much to do.

You may help open a path that someone will walk through years from now.

You may help create a small space that will eventually become someone's place of meditation.

You may plant something that will grow long after you have left.

You are participating in the creation of something that is still taking shape.

And that is precisely the point.

    Welcome

If you are looking for luxury, constant entertainment or a conventional vacation, this probably isn't the right place for you.

But if you are looking for nature, simplicity, silence, meaningful work and the opportunity to participate in creating something from the ground up, while learning to be comfortable with yourself and with the natural world...

    Welcome to our space.
