  We live in the north of Serra da Estrela in a 3 ha forest. We are Misha (Russian) Karolin (German) and our two kids born in Portugal. Our family has two cats and 10 chickens. We moved almost 3 years ago from Lisbon to our beautiful farm.
  There is so much work on the land to keep it clear for fire management in summer and also to make fire wood to keep the house warm.
  We already built a sauna and a hot tub that we do love to heat up in winter to enjoy the cold to the fullest.
  
  The mountain of Serra da Estrela is pretty near. So we can even go to the snow in winter.
  
  We are a family trying to live a simple life without claiming to be zero waste or self sustainable. We try our best to consume little, use what the land provides. We learn more every year, which plants and herbs are useful? How to preserve our harvest.
  
  But we also like to enjoy our life, drink the wine we are making, heat up the sauna, go swimming in the river.

  We are from Russia and Germany but have lived in Portugal already more than 10 years. We moved 2,5 years ago to our farm here. We are really just our small family. You can expect a calm stay. We usually don't have a big crowd here. But if we get along well there is certainly the chance to show you around the area or just enjoy our beautiful farm, heat the sauna, heat our wood stoves in the house and just have a cozy and relaxed autumn.

  Ajuda

  We will need help to clear our forest. There is a never ending amount of trees falling or dying - which is great for fire wood, but comes with a lot of work. You will be helping to collect the wood, bringing it to the storage etc. Also we will be needing someone to help us with the olive harvest for the cured olives and olive oil for our own consumption (and yours 🤞😁).
  When it's raining we will also do small renovation around the house or creative work with wood like building cabinets for our kitchen that you could assist with and learn building furniture.

  Acomodação

  We offer to stay in our cozy campervan. It has two big beds. So it also fits a couple comfortably. The van has a fridge and little kitchenette. Bathroom is at the main house 20 m away.
  
  We are happy to provide breakfast, a warm lunch and dinner together with our family. But of course you can also eat on your own if you prefer tranquility.

  We have an extra room that you can use if you need to work with good internet connection.

  Our Quinta is not fully fenced. So if you bring a dog or cat you'd need to be aware of that. Also your pet should be friendly towards our free ranging chickens.
