Wonderful guests! We very much enjoyed the company of Laura and Marvin. This beautiful couple came with bucketloads of good ideas, initiative, and creativity. They helped with many tasks including cleaning, organising an entire shed of built-up antiques and second-hand items, mowing, helping with solar-powered (inactive) fences, helping us get used to cows, taking care of our home, playing with our son, running around with our dog, cooking delicious meals, baking tasty healthy cakes and much more. Marvin and Laura are independent and self-sufficient (having their car is a big plus). We were glad to have hosted them and to have formed a friendship. Their personalities energised our home, and we enjoyed their company very much. We highly recommend welcoming them into your home, and we hope to visit them overseas too.

Nuestra experiencia aquí fue increíble. Richi y su familia nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Pasamos 3 semanas muy buenas, aprendimos mucho sobre el cacao y todo su proceso. Se respetaron al 100% los horarios y condiciones del voluntariado. Compartimos momentos con otros voluntarios, intercambiando experiencias y culturas. Además, Richi nos compartió sus conocimientos sobre la Amazonia y el respeto hacia ella. Realmente lo pasamos muy bien, recomendamos y volveríamos a este lugar 💝 Los esperamos en Argentina, las puertas están abiertas!! 🇦🇷

If there was a sixth star to give, we would, because - Susa and Niklas are just a host's dream! It was like having friends over to stay and help. Lovely family! beautiful people! We had a great time together...Jonathan and Leander are super cute kids and very well educated! They spent at our place two too short yet very intense weeks. They are very curious, open minded, willing to work and eager to learn new things and help around and they always see what needs to be done without need to be told, (very important!!). Also Niklas as an electrical engineer helped us a lot with a problem in our frezeer... Our kids played together a lot and had the best time. I'm sure everyone will benefit from hosting them on all levels. Highly recommended. We hope to see you again guys, wish you the best!!!! big hug

Having Marrie around was truly a gift for us and everyone at the learning center. From the very beginning, she brought such a warm and kind energy that made both children and adults feel instantly connected to her. She was especially wonderful with the little ones ,even my niece who is 3-years old couldn’t get enough of playing with her! She showed genuine care and patience, which touched everyone’s heart. In class, she was equally amazing. She found creative and engaging ways to support both the younger students and the teenagers, making learning English feel natural and fun for them. Her beautiful voice added such joy to our karaoke sessions with my teenagers's student.love it Exploring the area with her was also full of laughter and unforgettable memories. Whether visiting local spots or just walking through the village, her presence always brought happiness and light. Thank you so much, Marrie. You’ve left a beautiful mark here, and we hopes one day your paths will cross again. Until then, sending you love and gratitude from all of us here 💛

Marianne and Matis joined us for two weeks and became instantly part of our team. They are open and easy going, willing to make things work smoothly. Curious, participating in conversations and sharing their thoughts, as well as engaging in everyday house choirs and play with our son. Also very independent in their free time and giving space. Despite all that Matis is skilled in carpentry which was very helpful and he took on the leader roll in the daily building projects since Eva was not able to be much around during the workhours. Marianne and Matis work well as a team and during the time they stayed here they showed that also by cooking delicious meals and taking our son out for rock climbing in the cliffs behind our house. We are greatful for their visit and would always host them again!

Rebecca and Max are two welcoming, nice, friendly guys. They made us feel at home and comfortable. Theirs is a beautiful home in a wonderful place. Work-wise we had a great time with 4-hour hours for 5 days a week. This was our first experience as Workaway and I must say with Rebecca and Max it was great!

It was a pleasure to have Nina with us, even though she joined our team without prior teaching experience. We were genuinely impressed by her natural teaching abilities and how quickly she adapted to working with students, especially teenagers. Nina proved to be an excellent communicator, highly approachable, and skillful in creating engaging learning environments. Her dedication and empathy made a positive impact on both our team and the students she worked with. Although she faced a brief period of illness during her stay, her commitment and positive attitude never wavered. We truly enjoyed having her as part of our team, and I confidently recommend her for any teaching position. She has great potential in the field of education and would be a valuable addition to any institution.

Hana was a fantastic helper—easygoing, reliable, and a pleasure to have around. She showed a genuine interest in getting involved and embraced every opportunity to learn. It was especially lovely to see her confidence grow, both with the dogs and in her English. To any future hosts: you’re in great hands—Hana’s a gem!

Katja & Sky are truly Angels, we feel so blessed to have had them stay with us twice now. They came with strong intentions to connect and support, and they were incredibly adaptable during a dynamic time of transition for our family. They have really become whānau (family) because of this. We feel so blessed to have met you and look forward to your return to Aotearoa or when we see you on our future adventure to your homeland. C’est incroyable !!! Staying with Éric and Aurelie is really a nice experience ! Spending time with their kids are nice memories as well. They are nice and warm people, and are willing to communicate and leaves space to discuss. Since they are very knowledgeable, talking to them is fun and you’ll learn a lot. Instead of the tasks we do, we could experience raw vegetarian food and also a more natural way to live with the nature☺️ Bisou bisou

It has been an absolute pleasure hosting Cecilia Munthe and Mirjam Marie as volunteers. From the moment they arrived, both young women demonstrated exceptional reliability, honesty, and a strong work ethic. They approached every task with enthusiasm and intelligence, often anticipating needs before being asked and completing duties with care and precision. Their positive energy and happy dispositions brought warmth and light to each day, and they quickly became valued members of our family. Cecilia and Mirjam showed unwavering integrity in all that they did and were always eager to help, no matter how big or small the task. Their friendly and approachable nature made them a joy to be around, and they formed genuine connections with everyone they met. We are incredibly grateful for their contribution and would welcome them back any time. They are truly outstanding young women with bright futures ahead.

These two were amazing and lots of fun to have around. We will miss Lotte's incredible cooking and Lynns good practical brain fixing all our little carpentry jobs around the house. Well done you two and good luck with your next steps.

It was an absolute delight to host Kelly, she fitted in well with the rest of the group and worked diligently to finish all tasks she was assigned to a very high standard. She had a particular eye to detail when attending to cleaning tasks. She also helped us with gardening and was an excellent worker. We really enjoyed having her around and she has a lovely personality. We would have no hesitation to recommend her to other hosts.

Bálint stayed for a week, some time after his first reaction on my last minute request. Finally he came and helped me trough a lot of work that was behind. The very wet spring changed the farm on several places into a jungle. With the help from Bálint I can now reach the fruit trees again to give them water and have some views over the fields. Perhaps the work was a bit dull, and some heatwaves came up, but the results were very welcome. For my cooking I had a good public, it is nice when volunteers like what I prepare. The communication was always clear to agree things for both. I am still happy with the results from his stay here!

Marie was a wonderful guest/volunteer! We would welcome her back anytime. :) She is very kind, polite and always willing to give a hand. We showed her the task list, and she went through it thoroughly and efficiently, and often doing more than was asked. Thank you Marie, we are looking forward to your quick visit before you head back home!

Estuví una semana con Ariel en su lugar, donde la naturaleza es muy hermosa y magica. Me gustó mucho compartir una caminada en la montana con el tambièn porque el sabes mucho de las plantas. Aunque pensé que encontraría más gente viviendo en el lugar, encontré la posibilidad con la compañía de la naturaleza de escucharme un poco más. Con Ariel se puede hablar de muchas cosas y disfruté aprendiendo sobre su religión y su visión de la vida. Muchas Gracias!

Taylah is very nice girl with very positive energy. It seems like she already knows what she needed to help in the hostel, so all the tasks explain to her was super easy. Everything she was was doing, was done in the best way possible. She can adapt in any project without a problem, so we deeply recommend her. Thank you so much for your help and maybe we see you again🤗

The feedbacks for this place are numerous and glowing and previous workawayers have had a ball of a time. But for a number of reasons that was not so much the case for me, Toon had recently come back from a hike into the jungle and was at times was in a lot of pain and discomfit from his many old injuries and numerous new mosquito bites on his feet which I think did not help his levels of happiness. I was meant to stay here for just over three weeks but I had had enough after four days. The food was nourishing but after having the same meal of rice, leafy greens and some stew five times I was a bit over it. My job of painting a thick black tar substance onto the underside of his truck was actually not to bad what with the cooler temperatures at this time of the year and being in the shade of a big new carport roof. I found some of his rules a bit quirky and onerous, not being allowed to close the bathroom door whilst in there carrying out my ablutions was not good and I don't think its a goer for ladies. Some somewhat negative comments about how I live my life was not appreciated and we did slightly bang heads on a couple of occasions. A lot of the comments in the feedback mention the pristine rainforest, well, that is not the case with the slowly unfolding and detrimental impact wild pigs are having on the area. Positive things I experienced were lovely long ( up to 20kms) walks down to Cow bay and the clear swimming holes for cooling off in in the mid afternoon. A quite exciting Cassowary interaction, the big bird was very intrigued with me ( probably the colour of shirt I was wearing, dark blue) and came out of the rainforest and walked right up to me. My advice if you get to meet one up close and personal was keep calm and see if you can find a bush/tree to get behind. I am not saying don't go here but just be clear in your own mind what you want from this experience.

Paradise place. Actually insane bit of land with forests and a lagoon and loads of different plants and animals. The work is great and varied, the house is so comfortable and lovely. Felt very at home. Cant recommend enough!

We genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment Jean-Luc picked us up from the train station he was kind, generous and a truely genuine human being. The accomodation was fantastic, it was seperate with our own entrance and exit with a full kitchen, living space and bathroom. The work was not overly laborious and Jean-Luc gave clear instructions and allowed us to work autonomously. We shared meals together many of the nights, where we had fantastic conversation and fantastic wine. On one weekend he even took us for a day trip to the markets and museums. I am so truely grateful and will cherish the memories made for years to come. Thank you for your kindness and generosity Jean-Luc
