Mattias is wonderful to have around! He helped us with drone photography and produced some awesome material. He’s easygoing, talented, and fun to be around. Growing up around farms and nature, he’s very comfortable with countryside living and fits right in here. He’s always welcome back here! Jacob is an excellent volunteer and an overall great guy. He helped us in the gardens and quickly became part of the team. Like Mattias, he’s very at home in the countryside thanks to his upbringing, and he brings a relaxed, positive energy to the group. We’d gladly welcome him back anytime!

Adam is currently staying with us, and we’ve really enjoyed having him around. He’s friendly, easy to work with, and jumped right into things from day one. He naturally stepped into a leadership role and helped make our planting process way more efficient. We truly appreciate his initiative and positive attitude. He’s welcome back anytime!

It was Simão's first WorkAway experience and it was our privilege to host him! In the week we hosted him, we were rather busy, but Simão's assertiveness helped us a lot. Heavy lifting, driving cross country to move boxes, cooking, cleaning and making us a daily fresh bread (he's a baker!!). His English is not the best, but the fact that he's eager to learn did the trick. Only one week of WorkAway at our house improved his English drastically! We would welcome him again in a heartbeat. ...and not to forget: he's a tremendous pet-sitter. He walked Frodo multiple times a day, played with him and even did some dog-training. He sure has the patience to deal with intensive dogs like Frodo.

First of all I'ld like to say: Thank you very much for your resilience and staying calm throughout some troubles we were challenged by. We all are really going to miss you. And for anybody who thinks of taking Joana in as workawayer, I can say she really is: - reliable, trustworthy & responsible - very good communication skills & really high resilience 🌿 - hardworking, eager to learn, high self-responsibility - great problem solver and very skilled - showed great care and love for the animals - kept the Volunteer house clean - wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty neither in the garden nor with the animals - nice to talk to and spend time with. She took over the following tasks: - cared for the garden & harvested variety of herbs and vegetables, - was responsible for administering medication to the animals, - did weeding & watering in the garden - fed all animals & cared well for the cats and the dogs - walked the dogs - repaired whatever she found - quick and easy - provided me with pics of the animals each day - handled the gardener and the plumber very well - can handle not english speaking workers It was a pleasure to have Joana here. Dear Joana, I wish you the very best on your way and hope you will come back some time. Καλο Ταχιδι Marie-Anne + cats + dogs 🙋‍♀️🐈🐕

100% recomendada.

I stayed with Annabelle and Truman for 7 weeks. I can say with complete honesty that it was one of the most fulfilling experiences in my life so far. From the first day I felt welcomed, cared for and respected. This continued for the entirety of my stay. Perhaps my favorite aspect of my stay was the variety. This applies both in terms of 'work' tasks (carpentry, DIY, cooking, gardening and more) and leisurely activities (singing, dancing, swimming). I learnt so much as a consequence of this. Not to mention the opportunity to learn from other volunteers at the project too (special mention to John, Marco, Gabi, Oriya). Overall I couldn't recommend the experience more for anyone looking to grow, connect, teach, learn about themselves and learn from others. 🙏🌻☀️

Meeting and spending time with Ruth in Split was an exceptionally pleasant experience. She is a person with a wealth of interesting stories and insights that she shares generously with others. Her openness and authenticity make every encounter with her truly special. I believe this is only the first step in our growing connection, and I look forward to future meetings. Thank you, Ruth, for the wonderful time we spent together.

Jon was with us for 3weeks and we’ve had hard times to adapt to his working speed (Swedish power?). It was a pleasure to cook for him and we’ve enjoyed the after diner conversations. He is always welcome to help us in the future. We wish him all the best for the future to find his way.

Ian stayed with us on our boat for 10 days, and we really appreciated having him on board. He adapted quickly and easily to life on the boat, which made everything simple and enjoyable. He played wonderfully with our children, giving us some much-needed breathing room, and they loved spending time with him. Ian also helped with our DIY and maintenance projects, and he did a great job. He was motivated, reliable, and always willing to lend a hand. Thank you, Ian, for your help and your good energy. Wishing you all the best on your travels — and see you again sometime!

Kiara stayed with us on our boat for two months, and we couldn’t have asked for a better Workawayer. She has been an incredible help in so many ways. Responsible, kind, and genuinely caring, she connected beautifully with our children—always patient, creative, and fully present with them. We trusted her completely. In addition to being wonderful with the kids, Kiara was a huge support in the kitchen. She’s a talented cook with delicious Peruvian-inspired dishes, and she consistently kept the space tidy and clean without ever being asked. Her easy-going attitude made life on the boat flow smoothly, and she blended into our daily rhythm effortlessly. Thank you so much, Kiara, for everything you brought into our home. We’re truly grateful and would welcome you back anytime.

Jessica and Luisa stayed with us for about two months, and they were truly exceptional! From the moment they arrived, they jumped right in and helped with anything and everything. They painted our entire upstairs, helped us reorganize and tidy up different parts of the house, cooked lovely meals, worked outside with weeding and building projects, and even took great care of our cats. No task was ever too big or too small for them—they were always willing and always positive. One of the things we appreciated most was how wonderful they were with our three-year-old daughter. She absolutely adored them, called them “my girls,” and spent every day looking for them to play. Even now, she still asks when they’re coming back, which really shows how special their bond became. Jessica and Luisa are hardworking, kind, fun, and bring such uplifting energy with them. We miss having them around and genuinely can’t recommend them enough to other hosts. We would welcome them back to our farm anytime!

Luisa and her friend Jessica stayed with us for about two months, and during that time they were immensely helpful! If we could give them more than five stars, we absolutely would, because everything they did for us was amazing. They painted our entire upstairs, helped us organize and maintain the house, played with our daughter, helped care for her, cooked dinners for everyone, worked outside with weeding and building projects, took care of our cats—truly, they were always ready to help with anything we needed. They are incredibly hardworking, and we can’t recommend them highly enough to other hosts! We miss them a lot here at home; their energy was wonderful to be around, and we had so much fun together. Our three-year-old daughter asks about them often and absolutely adored both Luisa and Jessica—she called them “my girls” and always wanted to play with them. We really hope they’ll come back to our farm someday. We loved hosting them!

Vidir has been with us for a week. He brought positive energy, interesting conversations and helped with some woodconstructions and attachements for a 1,5 m2 roof. He used the anglegrinder for cutting the roofmaterial to size and worked with precission😀🙏 He very well interacted with our 3 big shepherds and loved having breakfast en good meals together with nice conversations. He's an independend man who makes his own plans and communicates well about it. We enjoyed having him and I wished there was more momentum for exchanging about his travelingexperiences. He needed time to arrange things before travelling back to Iceland, which was totally ok and understandable. His interaction with the other WW-er was very possitive and a joy to see. I sure can recommend him to future hosts👍

I had a great time staying at Marion and Kevin’s place and working with them and their neighbors. They are very busy with their girls, all their animals, and managing the farm, so there is plenty to help with, but they never asked for too much, and they also made time to hang out and have a cultural exchange which I appreciated. They also let me sample some of their pork products which were fantastic. They are a kind and beautiful family. I stayed in a camper at Marion and Kevins place, but I also helped out their neighbors Malka and Laurent with a few different tasks. I really enjoyed doing stone masonry with Laurent. They have a beautiful place and are very welcoming. We shared a lot of laughs. Malka is a great cook! Some of the tasks I helped with: feeding the pigs, repairing fencing, stone masonry, pruning trees, splitting wood. The accommodation in the camper at Kevin and Marions place was perfect for me as someone who enjoys camping and is down to earth, but it may be a bit rustic for some folks. I enjoyed the solitude it provided which allowed me to work on my music and guitar playing. And their property is in a beautiful location! I stayed for nearly two weeks and hope to come back some day when the weather is warmer! Thank you guys!
