My first workaway experience couldn't be better. This place is wonderful, memorable and full of love. I wish I could stay longer!

I stayed with Ona's family 3 months and it was awesome. Everyone is very sociable and it was very quick and easy to fit in. The room I slept in was confortable and gives a nice view on the valley and the sea. Ona and David were very helpful, they told me about places to go, took me on week ends to the Delta, Barcelona, Sitges, Montserrat and got me to meet their families, friends and neighbors. Since the job mostly consisted in just driving the girls to school and back, I had much free time. In the area, I would to go on a hike, visit the nearby villages, go to the beach with the girls, head to the gym or the swimming pool of La Selva (the gym subscription was taken in charge by Ona and David)... I had an awesome spring among Ona, David, Aura and Elna and they are a family I totally recommend staying with !

My three weeks at Miss Gati’s home were truly wonderful. Everyone welcomed me with overwhelming kindness and enthusiasm—not only Gati and her family, but also their friends and neighbors, who gave us the chance to take part in many authentic and amazing experiences: local festivals, weddings, temples, swimming pools… almost every day brought a new opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the local life. Teaching English to the children is very rewarding. Miss Gati has developed a method based on songs, flashcards, and games, which works really well with such young learners. The teachers are very kind and give volunteers a lot of freedom—you can often decide how to conduct the lessons yourself, while still relying on the teachers to translate, help manage the kids, or suggest engaging games and exercises. Each day, a different teacher will pick you up and take you to 1, 2, or 3 different homes, which is really interesting because it gives you a chance to see where and how the locals actually live. A special mention goes to the “slightly older” students (~25 years old), Yogi and Panda, who are always happy to take you around on a motorbike or by car, do fun activities together, and improve their English along the way. In conclusion, I absolutely recommend Miss Gati’s school if you’re looking for a rewarding teaching experience and want to take part in a wide variety of activities that traditional tourism could never offer. La ayuda que Pietro y Paolina nos dieron fue de extrema calidad, los chicos estaban conectados con el lugar, son muy proactivos y de particular sensibilidad para entender al publico que venia, realizaron todas las actividades saisfactoriamente, se integraron muy bien en los diferentes grupos con los que les toco compartir, mostraban la cultura de su pais a traves de la comida compartiendola muchas veces, en fin son perfectos para vivir en comunidad, al mismo tiempo muy respetuosos y calidos. Muchas gracias por este tiempo de calidad, que todo siga bonito! <3

Yonatan was a wonderful addition to our household. From the moment you meet him, you get a sense of Yonatan’s remarkable calmness and kindness. Yonatan also brings incredible skills: he is a gifted documentarian and in the time he was with us helped with so many other projects: from painting the house and masterfully staging our guest suit to helping with daily chores, Yonatan really improved our lives. More than that, Yonatan has a deep thoughtfulness that makes him a wonderful person to have around. We feel really grateful to have hosted Yonatan and he is welcome back with us anytime.

Having Finja with us for the past three weeks has been an absolute gift. From the moment she arrived in Tioughza, she became part of the family. Her kindness, creativity, and ability to connect deeply with the children made a lasting impact. Through theater workshops and playful art sessions, Finja opened up a space for expression, imagination, and joy.. something the kids (and all of us!) will remember for a long time. We also shared beautiful moments beyond the workshops, enjoying meals together, exchanging cultures and stories, going on adventures, and simply enjoying the rhythm of village life. We’re deeply grateful for her time with us. The door will always remain open for her. Wishing her a beautiful journey ahead, and we hope to cross paths again soon! With love, The Team

🌿Chiara & Paula Thanks for coming us We feel truly grateful to have had Chiara and Paula with us – two bright souls from Germany who brought warmth, kindness, and energy to our small farmer family, even during a time of crisis. From the very moment they arrived (in heavy rain!), they were kind, flexible, and full of positive spirit. Thanks to our friend Ar for picking them up during the storm. On their first day, we were lucky to share a meaningful lunch together – our only meal before we had to unexpectedly leave due to a health emergency. Even with just a short time together, they left a real mark: a beautiful garden bed they built with their own hands and hearts, which still grows strong today. We treasure that little piece of them in our farm. What touched us deeply was their heartfelt offer to donate blood for Kik when we were in the hospital. Their compassion and selflessness meant the world to us during one of our most difficult moments. Not only that – we are also sincerely thankful for how they took care of themselves with joy and independence, even in our absence. They cooked meals, helped each other, and adapted with such a warm and positive attitude. It really touched our hearts to know they made the best of their time here and contributed with such love. We’re also incredibly thankful to our extended support: Ar, the Cheyen family, and everyone who helped welcome and care for Chiara and Paula while we were away. It reminded us how powerful community can be. Chiara and Paula are not only great volunteers – they are thoughtful, trustworthy, kind-hearted, and full of empathy. We are so lucky to have crossed paths, and we truly hope to meet again, not as hosts and volunteers, but as lifelong friends. 💚 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Chiara & Paula. Working with the academy was an incredible experience. I was only supposed to stay for 1 month but it quickly turned into 3 months. The students and staff are wonderful and make the classes so much fun. They provided me with so many opportunities to experience Vietnamese culture and welcomed me with open arms. Not only has the center been a great opportunity to build connections and experience a new culture but so has Hai Phong city. It is a beautiful city with kind people. 10/10 experience, would definitely do it again!

Mylène et Jean Paul sont des gens formidables. Ce sont de vrais agriculteurs vivants dans les Pyrénées. Avec Mylène, j'ai appris à planter, à m'occuper des poules, à tondre la pelouse avec rotofil et bien sûr, j'ai pu travailler dans leur vigne. Elle me laissait faire de la confiture avec les citrons qu'elle cueillait dans ses arbres. J'ai pu faire de longues promenades dans la nature avec Patou, le chien qui garde la maison. J'ai pu admirer les chants traditionnels de la chorale béarnaise, où ils fesaient membre, et j'ai pu participer aux danses folkloriques béarnaises. J'ai pu jouer avec Julèn et Luna, leurs petits-enfants. et lire des contes á eux. Il est impossible de décrire tout le temp miraculeux que j'ai passé avec cette merveilleuse famille béarnaise. Merci.

The time I spent with Jane in her magnificent rain forest home was super heartwarming. I enjoyed every day working and living the Queenslander lifestyle. The work included renovated a gazebo, refinishing wooden furniture, cleaning and organizing the garage and workshop and performed general maintenance and cleaning all around this beautiful property. However, the BEST part of this Workaway experience was dog sitting! NO DOUBT YOUR GOING TO FALL IN LOVE WITH TIKANI. He is the sweetest and most lovable dog yet. He never left my side.... he followed me around all day as I completed project after project... you will love him as much as I. Jane's home is completely comfortable and Jane was such a welcoming and gracious host. I highly recommend you spend some quality time at this most endearing Workaway.

Nicole es una excelente chica su ayuda en nuestro lugar fue muy gratificante , tarea que requería de su ayuda lo hacía sin problemas ella me ayudó muchísimo con el sargazo es una tarea muy difícil en estás temporadas por el exceso de alga y ella todos los días que permaneció aquí lo realizó excelente . Cocina muy rico y deja todo limpio y en orden , le dió mucho cariño a nuestros tres perritos ,limpio nuestro lugar de hojas secas y de brotes ,sin duda recomiendo la ayuda de Nicole no se arrepentirán de tenerla como workawayer. Nicole is an excellent girl, her help at our place was very gratifying, a task that required her help she did it without problems, she helped me a lot with the sargassum, it is a very difficult task in these seasons due to the excess of algae and she did it excellently every day that she stayed here. She cooks very well and leaves everything clean and in order, she gave a lot of love to our three dogs, she cleaned our place of dry leaves and shoots, I definitely recommend Nicole's help, you will not regret having her as a workawayer.

I stayed with Nick for two weeks and it was amazing! Nick is an amazing person, very attentive to you and always does the best he can for your comfort. He cooks very well and is always willing to play some games or have a nice chat with everyone. The hostel is amazing, it is one of the few hostels that I have been to where you feel like home, the atmosphere is incredible. The work is really relaxing all the time, just helping in some stuffs. I had plenty of time to walk around the city and see the main tourist attractions. It was a very good experience. I wish the best for you and your family. Be happy!

I stayed one month at this place and absolutely loved my time volunteering here. From the moment I entered the hostel, I felt welcomed and began meeting amazing people. Rajiv is amazing - very responsive and helpful on all fronts! The work is easy, enjoyable, and clear. You can rent bikes nearby and transportation to the beach is quick and easy (or local bus). I also loved the dinners and community events every night. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience or recommend this volunteer opportunity more!!

My friend Karo and I loved our time staying with Martin and Andrea, and of course their two cats Max and Rosie :) They really made us feel at home, and we were spoilt with yummy food and desserts all three weeks. We mainly did gardening work, and some household work. It was always made sure that the work wasn't to much and we were comfortable with everything. There is a seminar room as you can see in the pictures that we used to do yoga and stretches, so if you enjoy something like that you will have a lovely room to do it here. The area is pretty for walks and bike rides, and we took a day trip to Graz which was fun :) Thank you Martin and Andrea for having us, we had a great time!

I had a great experience at the sailing school in Palau, working as the galley coordinator. I helped manage meals—organizing breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the students, and taking care of shopping lists with the chef. The beach was just 20 meters away, and I had plenty of free time to enjoy it. I was also invited to join sailing trips, which was a fantastic opportunity to learn something new. The best part was the people: the instructors were friendly, fun, and super welcoming. I truly enjoyed my time there and would recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a beautiful and dynamic place to volunteer.

I spent six weeks on the island of San Pietro during the pre-opening of the hotel, helping with cleaning and gardening. It was a great experience! Antonio is a kind and thoughtful host, and an amazing cook—every lunch was fresh, tasty, and full of local flavors. There was a great group atmosphere with other Workawayers, and we had plenty of free time to explore the island. Antonio also let us use bikes and the car on weekends, which made discovering the area even more fun. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and relaxed experience in a beautiful place. Thank you, Antonio!

Henrik was a pleasure to host! Cheerful, willing to help and with a pleasant calm demeanor. He helped to build a fence and has some good skills he put to use. He was very kind with our dogs and all the animals liked him. He is welcome back any time :)

Petra is very friendly with an open personality and great sense of humor. Was open to all work and curious to learn about new cultures. Very presice in her work, the mirrors have never been so clean! Unfortunately she coudn't stay longer because we would have loved to have her!

I had a really wonderful time with Flore and Bram, an experience I won’t forget. They always made sure I felt comfortable and are both very warm-hearted people. Whenever I asked if they could drive me to a specific hiking trail, if I could borrow the bike, or anything else, my wishes were always fulfilled. There was always enough food, and often delicious muffins from Flore, who would sometimes prepare a Swedish Fika for us after work. Their dog Suki is super sweet, playful, and loves to cuddle. If you’re an animal lover, that’s definitely a big plus. I could also use the sauna whenever I wanted. We also celebrated midsummer together and had barbecue two times during my stay. The time flew by, and I’m truly grateful for everything. I wish both of you all the best for the future! Yours Verena
