Hi folks,
We have a space for 1 or two people to join us on 8th October until the end of the month.
Or you can join us later too.
We have a fun, friendly, & relaxed backpacker in Greymouth. The gateway to New Zealand's Wild West Coast! Our backpackers is a beautiful old building, ex-monastery 100m from middle of town with a nice big garden with hammocks, fireplace and BBQ area. We also have a resident dog called Cosmo who is very friendly.
All the hostel rooms are animal themed.
We enjoy having people come and stay as this gives us the opportunity to learn all about your different cultures. We find this very enriching. Particularly learning about where people come from and their way of life, language and customs.. Similarly, it is a good opportunity for you to learn from us as New Zealanders. We are described as a "home away from home" by many of our visitors. Some come back for a second or third stay! Good fun all round.
The help is 2-3 hours a day. Mainly household tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming and folding. You will need to have a NZ work visa.
We are looking for people who have a positive attitude towards life and are happy to share this with guests and fellow workers.

Lynda and Harry were super cool with us from the beginning.
They have system in hostel which works very well.
In term of time and job that we did, we have got at least 300% bonus on top what we have expected.

We spent 2 weeks in Greymouth and it was amazing. Lynda and Harry are such great person with interest on their workawayers. Our work was quite easy and not long (vacuming and laundry, between 2-3h) so we had a lot of time to enjoy with the others helpers and even with the customers. Sadly, I spent only one week here. I wish I spent longer! They made me feel right at home the minute I arrived with pizza and drinks! The work was easy and you had the entire afternoon off to explore the local area. My 3 week stay at Noahs Ark was really wonderful. The hostel and its owners make you feel incredibly homely. The accomodation is very nice, especially the possibility to watch beautiful sunset on the balcony. And as a little extra they have got an amazing dog and the best music.

I had an amazing stay at Harry and Lynda's place! Lovely colourful place. I only had to work roughly 3 hours a day for the accommodation. There were 5 other workawayers with me and we had a blast.

Harry and Lynda were friendly and they have a really relaxed and fun hostel. The other workawayers were awesome company too. It's a really nice location to relax and I wish I had spent longer there (so will have to go back sometime)

I stayed at the hostel for about three weeks, and I had a really great time there. The house is cozy, the guests and other Workawayer were nice and Harry and Lynda were such funny and nice hosts. You immediately felt involved and like you are a part of the community.

Working here was easily my favorite workaway experience in NZ. Lynda and Harry are super interesting people and Jim and Launa made the work fly by each day. Greymouth might not be the most exciting place but this place makes up for it with the people who live and work there. I would go back to work here any time.

Matt and Myrie were fantastic hosts! They made me feel so welcome! The hostel is beautiful and the effort that went into it really shows! The work is fair and you have plenty of time to explore! There are some lovely walks in the area and Bez the dog is more than happy to join you! Thanx again both! Great workaway!

Matt and Myrie are great, down to earth hosts. I had a great time staying with them and meeting a lot of people in the hostel. The hostel overall had a very cosy feel and was so neat, I especially loved seeing Bez and Jess around. Thank you guys for the experience!

This is a beautiful, cozy hostel where you will feel at home immediately. I really enjoyed my stay here, especially because I could work at the reception and gain a good insight into how to run and maintain a backpackers. This is a good place to stay, we really enjoyed the garden, the pool and the big kitchen as well as the lovingly furbished animal rooms. Our tasks where clearly structured and easily done. Thank you for the time there!
