    Description

    Females ONLY. Non Smokers.

We’re a friendly household based in Navan, County Meath, around 40 minutes from Dublin. I work from home, and we host Workawayers who can provide some practical help with the day-to-day running and organisation of the home.

We enjoy welcoming people from different countries and cultures, while keeping the exchange relaxed, respectful and straightforward.

We prefer one-week stays initially. This gives everyone a chance to see if the arrangement is a good fit, with the possibility of extending if it works well.

We’re best suited to someone who is independent, proactive, tidy and comfortable getting involved in everyday household tasks. In your free time, you are very welcome to use Navan as a base for travelling and exploring Ireland.

You’ll have plenty of chances to immerse yourself in local culture - nearby heritage sites like the Hill of Tara, Trim Castle, or even Dublin City.
So, all in all, you'll become more independent, maybe learn new skills, deepen cultural understanding, and bring home cherished memories of your time in Ireland.

    Your main role

This is a work exchange. You help us for agreed hours each day, and in return you receive accommodation and meals when you are at home. You will also have plenty of free time to explore Ireland.

The most important thing for us is finding someone who is kind, proactive and happy to be part of everyday family life.

    Helping in the home

    Your help will include:

✓ Keeping shared areas clean and tidy
✓ Vacuuming, dusting and wiping surfaces
    ✓ Making beds when needed
✓ Organising clothes, cupboards and storage
✓ Keeping the kitchen clean and organised
✓ Filling and emptying the dishwasher
✓ Helping prepare simple lunches and evening meals
✓ Helping with general household organisation
✓ Walking our small, friendly dog

I am looking for someone who can see what needs to be done and do it without always being asked.

    Spending time with my daughter

This is also an important part of the exchange.

My daughter is 10 and is mature for her age. She really enjoys one-to-one time with people and loves learning new things.

It would be wonderful to host someone who enjoys sharing a skill or hobby with her. For example:

    ✓ Playing guitar or piano
    ✓ Drawing, painting or crafts
    ✓ Baking or cooking together
    ✓ Hair and hairstyling
    ✓ Make-up and beauty
    ✓ Creative projects
✓ Games, films or simply spending time together

You do not need to be a professional teacher. If you play guitar, for example, you could teach her a few chords. If you love art, you could draw or paint together. If you're interested in hair or beauty, she would love learning and experimenting with you.

What matters most is that you genuinely enjoy spending time with children and can be a kind, positive role model.

Occasionally, I may also need a few hours of childcare in the evening while I attend a work event or class.

    Important to understand before applying

This is a genuine work exchange, not free holiday accommodation. We are very happy for you to travel, explore Ireland and use Navan as your base during your free time. However, we also expect you to complete the agreed household help and contribute positively while you are staying with us.

In return, you will have comfortable accommodation, meals while you are at home and plenty of your own time to explore.

    Exploring Ireland

Navan is a fantastic base for anyone keen to explore Ireland. Located in the heart of County Meath, you’ll find plenty of history, culture and outdoor activities right on your doorstep.

Nearby attractions include Trim Castle, the Hill of Tara, Slane Castle, Bective Abbey, the Boyne Valley and many beautiful walking routes. For something a little different, Emerald Park is just a short journey away.

There is plenty to do locally too, with cafés, shops, a swimming pool, library, cinema and community events throughout the year. English conversation classes are often held in the local library on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, although you should make enquiries directly before travelling to ensure places are available.

Our home works best when everyone has a good balance between helping out and enjoying their own independence. You’re very welcome to use our house as a base for exploring Ireland, meeting friends and making the most of your free time.

When you’re helping in the home, you’ll be treated as part of the family and meals will be provided. On days when you’re travelling independently or taking time away, you’ll be responsible for your own arrangements.

We are also happy for Workawayers to take holidays or spend time travelling during their stay, provided this is discussed and agreed well in advance.

If you’ve read our profile carefully, please include the words “Here to Help” in the subject line of your message. It helps us know you’ve taken the time to read and understand what we’re looking for.

We look forward to hearing from someone who is independent, trustworthy, enjoys family life and is excited to experience Ireland from a local perspective.

    Teddy (5 ans)

Teddy likes to be left on his own, but hates to be alone.
He doesnt like to be picked up, but he loves to be in your company and will join you for cuddles when he is comfortable in your company.
Teddy is very much the boss of the house. He doesnt like cats or the postman.
He loves long walks, especially when he can go off leash in the countryside. He also loves his walks around the neighbourhood. He is a very quiet dog, and only seems to bark at night when he wants to go to bed or wants a treat. He is such a great dog!
