Aisie has been an absolute joy to work with, especially as we explored online options for volunteers who couldn’t physically travel to our community. What started as a simple adjustment quickly turned into a genuinely exciting journey of building an advanced curriculum for our girls’ program, and Aisie was right at the center of it all. Her patience could qualify for an award, her attention to detail is almost suspiciously good, and she communicates so clearly that meetings actually end on time. She’s incredibly idea-driven and, just when you think she’s done, she’s already asking, “What else can I help with?” We’re honestly at the point where we’re not just appreciating her contributions, we’re seriously considering giving her a formal role in the organization before someone else smart does. All jokes aside, you are truly an amazing person, and the work you’re doing is making the world a better place, one extra task at a time. Keep shining.

I spent a week at the Foundation and what can I say: it was simply wonderful! It’s a place where you can truly feel that the children are happy, eager to learn, and that you can become an active part of it. I was moved several times by the amazing personalities of the children and the visits to the schools were great as well! Nandini and Jyoti are inspiring people — they put their whole heart into the project, but also into supporting the volunteers. So many great conversations, shared funny moments, and oh my God, the food they prepare every day is just WOW! I can only recommend volunteering here and would come back anytime! ♥️

Vittoria and Nikolai are amazing! They were open and shared what was going on with them, even the things that were uncomfortable. They were willing to support with all the tasks and initiating by themselves as well. They brought beautiful fresh energy to our community that all of us appreciated greatly. If you ever want to return again, you are more than welcome, you will be forever part of our family. All the love ❤️

I feel really lucky to have hosted Anaïs, to have the chamce to get to know her and to have shared daily life with her. She is a kind, curious, thoughtful and super smary, always open and curious to learn and help in a genuine way. She didn’t just help out, she truly cared and got involved with a warm and positive attitude. Having her at home felt comfortable and easy, and I enjoyed her presence very much. Lukas was an incredible Workawayer, and we are very thankful for the time he spent with us. During his first few days, while we were away, he took full responsibility for caring for our animals and overseeing the property. He did a phenomenal job—we trusted him completely, and he carried out everything exactly as we asked. Having that peace of mind while we were away meant so much to us. Once we returned, Lukas became even more hands-on and helped with every task with great enthusiasm and a positive attitude. He is an excellent handyman and fixed many small things around one of the houses. He also contributed significantly to a house that is still under construction, bringing valuable experience with drywall and construction work. Beyond his skills, Lukas was respectful, reliable, and truly a blessing to have with us. We highly recommend him and we hope to welcome him back soon!

We arrived as curious volunteers, we left feeling like we had made lifelong friends. My wife and I stayed a little over 2 weeks with Thomas and Christina and we could easily have stayed so much longer if we weren't at the start of our long trip. The highlight of our time on their farm was, by far, spending time talking with both of them. Christina and Thomas are incredibly-well traveled, with fascinating backstories that filled many hours of conversation. We exchanged ideas, opinions, lessons, anecdotes, and jokes (many jokes!) on an endless amount of topics ranging from language, culture, religion, technology (get Thomas started on anything tech-related and be blown away by his knowledge), spirituality, business, etc etc. These two never shy away from going deep on a subject and we loved that about them. Beyond the cultural exchange, we helped with whatever needed doing, but this mostly involved cooking, which we were more than happy to take on as a daily task. This freed up both Christina and Thomas to take care of the many projects they are involved in (whether the non-profit they run in Bangalore or the endless amounts of farm infrastructure projects Thomas has going on). The farm itself is large and still in development, so we also brainstormed ideas on how to make use of some of the spaces and fields available. I also helped with some high-level business strategy and development on another project they have in the works, which I thoroughly enjoyed helping with. The cottage we stayed in was spacious, clean, with its own kitchen and gas stovetop (which we never used, but nice to have anyway!), refrigerator, bathroom/shower and patio overlooking one of the fields. Thomas and Christina were always very attentive and respectful, allowing us our own space when needed. The main home is modern and comfortable to spend time in. On a couple occasions we went into Bangalore with Thomas and Christina to meet their friends or run some errands. Thomas' friends and family also stayed at the farm for a couple of days. It was a lot of fun to meet and share time with them. We are so glad we got the opportunity to come and bring what we could to Thomas and Christina's farm. They left an extremely positive impression on us and our only regret is that we met them so early on in our travels so couldn't stay longer due to other commitments. We sincerely hope to meet them again one day and will definitely stay in touch!

I took a break in my bike travel with my boyfriend Baptiste for 12 days, during the Christmas period, and I wish I had stayed longer. This second workaway experience was unique for us, and made us realize to what extent some people can dedicate their life to something they believe in : helping souls finding their place in this world, surrounded by love. It took us about 3 days to fully understand and do correctly the tasks we were assigned to. Thomas and Diamento were both very patient and caring explaining us what to do, even when we were mistaking. They both perfectly know each dog personnality, and love sharing it with us. About the work : - At 8 in the morning, we prepare the dogs food, feed the dogs, clean the cages and fill the buckets of water in the area we are assigned to (of course, cuddles are strongly recommended ❤️). - At around 10:30, we take one dog on a walk, a good way to gently move our body, enjoy the surrounding landscape and the Olympe Mount if the weather is clear, and connect with a dog. - At around 11:30 : break Time ! Diamento always cooks an amazing meal. We discovered tasty greek specialty ! We also had Time to rest, but I mostly spent Time outside, trying to connect and to take pictures of the dogs. In the afternoon/evening, we took the goats out, looking after them for about 2 hours. It was a very nice moment to meditate, trying to stay calm when they were not listening a single world I was saying 😅 (they are so intelligent creatures !). After this nice sunset, it was the end of the working day. I will never forget this experience, and I’m really excited to come back in May, because yes, I decided to adopt too little sweet souls 🫶. All the dogs are so nice, and some are so funny. It was really interesting to discover their community behavior, which is more complex than I could have imagined. Thank you so much for all your love and kindness, you are both so inspiring !

Overall, we had a positive experience and appreciated the beautiful environment and the generosity of the hosts. The house is spacious, surrounded by nature, and daily life is shared in a very open and communal way, which can be a great fit for volunteers who enjoy a lively and interactive atmosphere. The tasks were varied and engaging, especially in September, with a good balance between outdoor activities and time spent in the kitchen. Cooking together was an important part of the experience and a real highlight for us — Lotte is an excellent cook and the food was always delicious, with a nice exchange of ideas and recipes. Lotte and Richard were kind in sharing their time with us, often giving us lifts to explore nearby places and including us in activities during our days off, which we truly appreciated. Communication was encouraged and regular check-ins took place, which we valued. That said, future volunteers may benefit from clearly aligning expectations not only regarding tasks, but also around shared household routines and personal boundaries, as the experience is quite immersive and based on close daily interaction. Overall, we are grateful for the experience, the openness of the setting, and the generosity we encountered. We wish Lotte and Richard all the best and thank them for the opportunity.

Anna and Simon from Switzerland were truly amazing Workawayers and wonderful guests. They stayed with my family for three weeks, and it was an unforgettable experience for all of us. They are incredibly kind, friendly, respectful, and easy to live with. During their stay, they helped me with many different tasks, including social media posts, blog content, photography, house chores, and even a building project where they painted and sealed boards. They approached every task with positivity, creativity, and dedication. I am also very grateful that they booked a four day safari tour with my agency, which meant a lot to me and showed great support for my work. One of the most special parts of their stay was the time we spent together as a family. Almost every night and some mornings we played UNO together. This simple card game brought us so much joy, laughter, and connection, and it became the highlight of our evenings. Those moments helped us bond deeply and created beautiful memories we will always cherish. I am truly grateful to Anna and Simon for the wonderful time we shared. They became part of my family, and I highly recommend them to any host. I would welcome them back anytime with open arms.

Nikolai and his wife, as well as their family friend, made us feel incredibly welcome during our stay at their countryside home in October. We were lucky to be there during the wine preparation process, which was fascinating to learn about and be involved in. We also helped set up the pond they had dug out. Beyond that, Nikolai gave us a variety of miscellaneous tasks so everyday felt different. The sunrises and sunsets from their home are magnificent, overlooking the nearby town with mountains stretching out in the distance. He made sure that we had the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, including Chiatura, an ex-Soviet mining town. We shared many lovely conversations together and enjoyed some fun board games as well. Thanks so much for hosting my friend and me. You have so many cool ideas for developing your abode and I wish you all the very best with your future plans!

Lucas and his family are some of the most wonderful people you could ever hope to meet. I spent Christmas with them last year, and from the very beginning they made me feel completely at home and so warmly welcomed. Lucas has this fantastic energy that’s infectious to be around — we had many great laughs and I knew from the get-go that it was going to be a superb experience. What they’re creating with their home and garden is truly amazing, and their dogs are simply the best. The work is always suited to what you enjoy and feels calm and rewarding, and relaxing afterwards in their peaceful abode is pure bliss. Lucas’s mum also shared her incredible Brazilian cooking with us. If you’re reading this, I truly hope you’re lucky enough to visit Recanto and meet these legends. I miss them dearly and hope we’re reunited sometime soon. I could never fully express my gratitude, but thank you, thank you, thank youuuu! Obrigadaaaa :)))

Eva spent about a week at our farm. She helped us feed the chicken, ducks, cleaned the coops and kept them happy. She helped us in the garden as well as in the upkeep of the farm overall. She ommunicates well, worked together as part of the farm team and able to contribute effectively. We are happy that she too enjoyed the farm as we appreciate her volunteering at our farm.

I volunteered for one month at this place in Semonkong. During my stay I was mainly responsible for creating content for their social media, especially making short videos for Instagram. Moreover, I took over the website, so I could do some minor updates. Because I was there during the busiest time of the year (Christmas holidays), I worked most of the time independently as Mannini was busy with guests and administration work. However, the last days we were able to work together more, which was great fun! I was warmly welcomed by Mannini and her family, I miss you guys! It is important to know that the accommodation is back to basic: there is no running water, no electricity and no wifi. I washed myself in a basin and the compost toilet is outside. For me, this was no problem. I also brought my own solar panel and power bank, so I was able to work on my phone. Be prepared that there is no schedule, so a flexible and proactive mindset is key. You can always discuss this with Mannini, she is very open for feedback. I really enjoyed my stay in Semonkong. The place is beautifully located in the mountains and I loved the horseriding with Thuto, an experienced guide! Thank you for letting me stay and we will definitely keep in touch!

Lars stayed with us in August of 2023. Lars immediately became part of our family and we had no hesitation in allowing him to extend his stay. Lars has great interpersonal skills with guests, good housekeeping skills, and an overall just a fun person to be around. He is responsible and passionate about exploring the outdoors. We would be delighted to have Lars again anytime.

Delsia stayed with us for one and a half months, and during that time she became much more than a guest. She became part of our family. She is an incredibly kind, helpful, and warm hearted person with excellent communication skills. Every moment we spent together was full and meaningful. We worked together in the garden, shared daily life, and she cooked wonderful meals for us. She helped with simple household tasks and completed everything she did with great care, attention, and responsibility. You could truly feel the effort and love she put into every task. We celebrated New Year’s Eve together, creating unforgettable memories as Turkish and Uruguayan dances blended into pure joy and laughter. The thoughtful gifts she chose for each of us touched our hearts deeply .It showed how much she truly cared. There are so many beautiful moments we could share. She arrived as a stranger, but she left as a member of our family. We will always keep our door open for her. Kuzey Sarp and Kenan Pars miss her very much too. Our dear friend Delsia, you will always be welcome here. ❤️🤍💙

My time was excellent. I spent a little over a month there in August and enjoyed it so much I returned in December for another month. Through house and property are beautiful and is the perfect place to check out from the rush of the big cities but still be close enough you can visit on your time off. Konstantyn is extremely welcoming and made sure you felt comfortable in his home. He is very proud of what he does and of the place, as he should be it is a beautiful place, both in the summer and winter. The beauitful animals, Cannella, Gigi, Layla and Aku are all very special and extremely welcoming as well. Work was never too strenuous, in the summer most of my time was spent outdoors in the veggie garden, harvesting berries, working on different projects and helping with the guests. In the winter, I worked mostly on projects in the house, by the fire and helped with the artwork of the house, which again is a beautiful thing that makes this place what it is. Konstantyn would prepare a delicious lunch every day after work and most dinners and would always make sure the kitchen was stocked. You truly feel very spoilt. The surrounding area and towns are all lovely and it was easy to spend afternoons and weekends exploring. Konstantyn would always offer to to include me in his plans, often venturing to the beach, thermal springs or out to dinner with friends. Overall an amazing stay and one I would highly recommend.

My stay at Kim and Pet’s ranch was an amazing experience! I felt truly welcomed, and they always made sure I was feeling comfortable and happy. I learned so much during those two weeks, and Kim took the time to teach me new skills, such as horse lunging. All the animals are treated incredibly well. The donkeys are even smiling ;) Thank you for this beautiful time at the ranch !

I stayed with Chendi for 1 month in December/January and had a great experience. This is a very unique and beautiful place, super peaceful and it was so special to live so secluded from everything. It's also about living in a primitive and simple way, which I liked. Chendi did his best to have a good variety of activities and little jobs during my stay, which was nice. An experience I will never forget!

Having Nicole here was a truly wonderful experience for our family. She was kind, respectful, and very open to learning about our culture and daily rural life. She adapted easily to simple living, showed patience and understanding, and always approached everything with a positive attitude. We appreciated her calm presence, genuine curiosity, and the way she connected naturally with our family and surroundings. She respected our home, our routines, and the rhythm of village life, making her stay comfortable and meaningful for everyone. We are grateful for the time we shared together and would happily welcome her again in the future.
