Description
This is a non profit organization that serves impoverished children and families in Guatemala. The NGO builds homes for the homeless, feeds the hungry, teaches self sustainability and provides education for those who are not able to go to school.
We are located in a small village about 1.5 hr south of Antigua Guatemala and 30 min north of Monterrico Guatemala. *FYI if you are traveling from Antigua Guatemala to El Tunco El Salvador we are right in the middle along CA-2.*
We recently moved from town to a 5-acre rural property with 60 mango trees. Mango season runs from February to September, so we need help with harvesting. Alongside that, we have various construction, yard cleanup and self-sustainability projects, including a community garden and a chicken coop that we need help with the most. We also sponsor children and provide English lessons for both them and our staff. The English lesson for our sponsor children are on Fridays, while the short lessons for our workers are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday Morning. Once in a while we organize different service projects to support the local community.
Our staff are local Guatemalans while I myself am from the States and my wife is from Switzerland. We have had volunteers from over 17 countries and received individuals from all path of lifes! Join the team!Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

We offer a safe environment away from tourism and peaceful in a rural area. Being in an area where not many people speak English, you will have to use Spanish when going shopping or speaking with locals.

David and Catherine are such sweet, involved hosts making the effort to spend time with the workawayers and to create a community with events like games by the fire pit, Taco Tuesdays...

Working under David and Catherine was great.
We worked around the ministry’s property creating david’s vision for the future of the place and it was a lot of fun. While I was there we had 10+ different Workaway ‘ers from all over the world and what a pleasure it was to chat to everyone (in English primarily)… read more
