Leaving soon to Mexico, there I want to discover the culture, learn more about the history of the country and the communities there in Chiapas. I also want to practice photography.

Hi I'm Anaïs, I want to discover the nuances of the human soul through art and travel.

My favorite part of travelling is through meeting people, discuss about how life is for them and feel it as well. When I go to a new country I like to take my time, learn about the history, the context to try to be the most respectous possible.

One way I've done that is through hitchikking. My most beautiful travel memories are this random encounters, the pieces of life you get to see. Helping a truck driver unloading his truck. Going to a family celebration of perfect strangers who welcome you as their own.
That's also what I've found on Work Away, memorable conversations, completely new ways of seeing things, learning to live in interdependant communities helping each other grow and make a welcoming space.
That is what I want to develop in this coming year of travelling. Learning how we can make communities grow, communicate well, deal with conflicts, organize things collectivelly. Because I want to settle in a community once I've explored more, and I want to be able to bring knowledge I gathered throughout the years. And, if I can, convay hope that changing our ways is possible and beneficial for both the environnement and humans.
So I have a project of documentary on intentionnal communities, which is only beginning. So if it's something you would like to be a part of, I would love to film, through everyday activities and interviews. But I'm also fine with not filming as my main goal is to learn.
I also want to focus on the sustainability aspect so I'm interested in learning how to cultivate, handle energy needs, water supplies, in remote communities.

So As you might have understood, I always carry my camera with me and also try to develop as a photographer, currently building my book. I would love to work on photography projects, if it's something you would like to try.

Art is very important part of my life and I want to make it even bigger. I mostly do visual arts (photography, drawing and painting), but also theater (I went to drama school for a year) which I want to reconnect to.
I also like to sing and danse, when I get confortable around the people.

I like to be close to nature, to the sea, the forest,the rivers, cause it's where I gain my peace. So I love outdoor activities that put you close to the elements like hikking, climbing, swimming or sailing. I have some basic knowledge of sailing as I've lived some time on boats on a previous Work Away and have done some opensea sailing as well.

I would be happy to help you with learning french, or practice english I really want to get better at spanish and italian, in both langages I can understand most of the sentences but struggle to speak still, so I would love to practice more (even do full immersion as I've done in the past for both langages)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Photography : I love to do photography projects as I try to become a professionnal, I love to experiment and get better at every type of photo.

Painting : I like to paint, I paint some little murals on previous Work Away I have been to (one is in the pictures)

Taking care of children : I have work a lot with children during summer camps so it's something I'm confortable with

Organisation : I know how to be a diligent note taker, keep track of whats happening, make plans.

Manual Work : I have worked on boats (caulking and painting), in warehouses, and also in some farms so I'm not scared of manual labor.

Autres infos...

I love cinema so deeply, the feeling of peace, of time stopping when stepping in the movie theater, I could discuss that for hours. And same goes with books (Virginia Woolf, Romain Gary, Ursula Le Guin, George R. R. Martin are among my favorite authors).
I also love to play boardgames.
I'm learning to juggle, now getting better with 3 balls but eager to learn more !
I would also love to learn the guitar.
