During the Covid-19 crises, we've turned our small hostel and it's 16 km of trails, into a completely clothing optional hostel, becoming Costa Rica's ONLY hostel of it's kind.
For the last 15 years of operation, the hostel has offered 2 designated clothing optional trails, and now we are experimenting and opened all the trails and hostel to this plan.
Very importantly, we will be operating in a safe and non sexual environment without exceptions!
We are two Canadians, owners and operators of the hostel.
The hostel is surrounded by tens of thousands of hectares of rainforest, and is a 30 minute walk from our small town.
Our specialty is the extensive, 16 kms of self-guided trail system that meanders through primary and secondary forest with ocean views, and waterways that lead to multiple waterfalls, all on our 61 hectares property.
All volunteers have unlimited access to the trails.

At the hostel itself, you'll meet travelers from all over the world. You'll also have a first hand experience of the rainforest and wildlife of the Osa Peninsula, one of the most biodiverse places on earth.
You can mingle with the townspeople as much as you like in your off hours.
Due to Covid-19, mingling in town will not be a good idea.
Due to Covid-19, we'll be operating with fewer guests.
This is why we are trying our big change, because we still have people contacting us about our clothing optional policies.
-Helping with guest questions and needs.
-Everyday upkeep of the hostel - cleaning, washrooms, rooms, hauling bed sheets to be washed etc...
We also have other projects.
Some examples are,
-Painting our cabins with a natural clay paint that we make on site.
-Trail maintenance .
-Small amounts of digging, and raking.
-Some deconstruction, cleaning and oiling of an existing floor, and painting the interior walls to make our new yoga platform more pretty.
We are open to suggestions from our volunteers. If there are special skills or interests you have that you think would benefit the hostel, we could consider it.
We have 14 beds in our new dorm area for our volunteers and guests.
All beds have good mosquito nets, and a solid roof, right next to nature!
There are also two double dorm beds, where we will accommodate couples as much as possible.
Plenty of hammocks for relaxing in your off time, and a well equipped kitchen.
The volunteers make the delicious onions and garlic style, rice and beans (provided by us) together as a group, or individually, as you like.
We're in a small village of 300 people, situated on the confluence of two rivers, The main economy of the village was based on gold mining which still exists to this day. Very slowly some of the local people are getting into tourism, but you'll have a great chance to mingle with the local culture in a place that is still very traditionally tico in many ways. Besides the trails on our property, there is a great chance to hike in the local area.

We've had many digital nomads here and hundreds of others being able to access the internet. It's not so fast, but good enough to stream videos and youtube, more of less, if you're the only one on. The wifi comes from the designated Bolita cell phone, using the hotspot.
all vehicles can be parked at the Bolita office, 30 minutes from the hostel.
Only quiet pets that don't want to chase and eat all the jungle bugs and animals and don't poop all over the place.
