Over all, you really feel like you're playing a role in creating a place that is fully self sufficient and for me, that was the best part of it all. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking to understand the operations of running a farm and willing to engage with both the family and other Workawayers. The facilities were excellent, including the kitchen, bathroom, electricity, and everything in between. The farm is beautifully and remotely located, yet still accessible to nearby towns.

Bertram is a young guy who is willing to step out his conform zone and have new learning experiences. He came to us with an open mind and a lot curiosity. He proved to be able to adapt to a totally different lifestyle and environment, as well as fit well within an intergenerational group of volunteers. He stayed with us three weeks in which he

I had a beautiful stay at Sundus and Enrico's small permaculture farm and felt very welcome! The farm is a beautiful place surrounded by nature, and there is so much to learn from Sundus and Enrico, particularly about beekeeping, raising chickens, and permaculture. I also really enjoyed that we always had lunch, and sometimes dinner, together, with nice food, a bottle of wine, and nice conversations.

Enrico and Soundous (and the two kids ;) ) are truely wonderful hosts with a broad knowledge about permaculture and agroecology. I expected my first work-away to help with farm work, but also came home with a nice basis of permaculture knowdlege and experience.

… read more room you're staying in. Both work around the farm is very doable, and both Soundous and Enrico are excellent communicators which results in a worriless work schedule. We were mainly helping clearing and maintaining the vineyards, planting new trees and plants, cutting wood, a quick course about bees and honey.
Soundous was always preparing a delicious lunch every day with simple Italian products, Enrico gave me a nice tour across some of the local suppliers in the region to taste the fresh and local products.

We truly enjoyed our two-week stay at Soundou’s and Enrico’s place and are already missing them and the children. We felt really well cared for, the fridge is always full (even with adjustments to our diet!) and both of them always check on you if everything is okay, also when one of us was sick. There is a lot of stuff to do on the farm, so next to necessary tasks we could choose whatever tasks was suiting us best. In our time we cleared a lot of branches, fixed a gutter, built a sandbox for the kids, planted trees, cleaned bee frames, fixed tools, cut wood and learned a lot about chickens and bees. They take an exceptional amount of time to explain everything and are always there for help, and mistakes are well allowed! The accommodation is very simple and heated with a wood stove in the kitchen but we were very happy to have our own room and had a lot of blankets that kept us warm.
