Hello!

I'm Jonnie, a 31-year-old Brit with a love of the natural world (hiking, birdwatching), sport (any), and music (folky/country americana stuff, mainly).

I love sunny days (which is unfortunate as I live in Glasgow), spending time with pals over a boardgame or game of snooker, and seeing basically anything live (music, sport, plays etc.).

I get a lot of pleasure from helping others - I currently volunteer with two charities : Simon Community Scotland (a homelessness charity) and The Conservation Volunteers (the name says it all, really).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a social researcher by trade, so if you need help designing a survey, or interviewing someone, I'm your man haha!

In terms of practical stuff, I have gained some skills through my volunteering experience at The Conservation Volunteers - I have built bird hides, bug hotels and raised flower beds using a drill/nails etc.; I have planted trees (t-notch); I have removed invasive species (to the UK) like rhododendron and Himalayan balsam; and I have also done some tree felling/thinning, footpath creation, pond restoration, scything etc.

I have also taken part in some citizen science studies (tree surveys, deadwood surveys, bird surveys etc.), so if you need help with any of this type of work, I'm sure I could support.

I also have some limited bike maintenance skills (I cycle regularly, so fixing punctures and replacing brake pads is a necessity!), and can help round the house with cleaning, decorating, putting up photo frames, cooking etc.

I play guitar and drums, so if you are learning, I can share some tips!
