Creating a self sufficient garden on our peaceful property north of Auckland, New Zealand

  Description

  We live on a peaceful 5 acre property just north of Auckland - only 25 minutes to the city centre if the traffic is flowing and only 15 minutes to Albany with its large malls. 15 minutes to the north is the coastal town of Orewa with its beautiful beach.
  What was once a totally treeless property is now well planted so we enjoy the birdlife along with 2 horses, 7sheep and lambs.
  At present we are finalising the planting and landscaping of the garden around our newish house. Ultimately we hope to be almost self sufficient in fruit and vegetables.
  With the forest close by for biking, tennis courts at the end of the road and all the amenities of a large city nearby we love living here. With peaceful rural views and stunning sunsets we are working towards creating a beautiful tranquil haven to share with friends and family.

  You would be welcome to join in at our local tennis club. We enjoy cooking and love good healthy food using as much of our own produce as possible but happy to cater to those who may like less healthy food too. Maybe you like to cook in which case we can enjoy sharing ideas We are in an ideal position to enjoy day trips both to the north, out to the islands and into the city to experience all that Auckland has to offer. Learn about caring for farm animals from a vet including farmlife in Australia.If you wish to learn about gardening I love to share. I'm looking forward to hearing about your country and your life and love to learn anything new - trying Italian at the moment. Happy to help with your English .

  Aide

  I'd love some help in the garden, more landscaping than weeding so the ability to use tools would be a real bonus for me but not essential. Similarly if you are competent on a digger there is a small one here with a list of tasks attached, but again that would be a bonus for me. We would be working together so experience is not essential. There may be the odd inside chore.

  Hébergement

  Very comfortable private bedroom with ensuite and private lounge for exclusive use . If two singles rather than a couple they can be accommodated.
  
  3 meals daily will be provided and shared together. I am able to cater for meat eaters and or vegetarians. If you wish to help with food prep that's great, alternatively I am more than happy to do the of the catering.

  Sorry no smoking inside. Bus stop nearby but erratic so happy to drive you to a bus station. Vegetarians or carnivores welcome. Small gym available. Prefer a couple or two singles
