Hi! Let me introduce ourselves. We are Trish (31) and Tom (35) - Trish is an Australian and Tom is a New Zealander and currently we both live in Australia. We are both ex-croupiers and have placed our university studies on pause for now (Trish - Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), Tom - Bachelor of Science (Forensic Science )). At the start of 2023, Tom was diagnosed with a rare cancer which he strongly battled for a year. After such a crazy year and now that Tom is in great health, Tom and I have decided to embrace life and everything it has to offer and so we are selling our house to explore the world.

We are looking to volunteer while we travel to make genuine connections with people, learn about cultures and learn new skills along the way. As we are older, we truly appreciate Workaways where we get to connect with our hosts, get to know them and their culture. We don't have any party in us anymore, though may enjoy a glass of wine every few months. When we aren't on a Workaway, we are housesitting and are able to provide plenty of references from that.

We both have experience with DIY renovations such as painting and plastering and also a lot of gardening from our own home and on my aunty's hobby farm. We also both enjoy cooking and Tom is the better cook but I handle all of the desserts! We usually host monthly dinner parties for our friends (see photos!).

In our spare time, we love cooking (we cook a lot!!!), playing board games, video games, listening to music, being in nature and spending time with friends and family. Trish has a genuine interest in learning languages and tries to work on a few languages at every chance she gets. Tom loves cooking and nothing makes him happier than seeing people enjoy his meals.

Trish is native fluent in English with a strong interest in learning languages. She is currently learning French (Almost A2 level!) and Gaidhlig. Tom is native fluent in English and is very new to learning French.

Que habilidades tienes?

Trish has over 19 years of experience in hospitality from casinos, cafes, bars, festivals and private catering. She also has experience in administration and litigation. Trish has a strong interest in social media and photography and is always trying to build on her skills.

Tom has 20 years of experience in hospitality from casinos, pubs and restaurants. Tom has a strong interest in biology and physics.

Between us we have the following skills, from working on our own property as well as friends and families:
1. DIY Renovations - Painting, Plastering, Sanding
2. Gardening - Pruning, Planting, Weeding, Basic Landscaping, Herbs and Vegetables, Power tools (Lawnmowers, chainsaws, grass trimmers/whipper snippers, edgers etc)
3. Cooking

We are also very willing to help anyone who wants to improve their English.
