Hello, Terry here!

First time Workawayer hoping to maximise a gap in unemployment by offering my skills, charisma and strong work ethic to a host for a cultural exchange.

Born in the city of Coventry; I relocated to rural Wiltshire at the age of 11 and still live here. Since graduating sixth form I've been somewhat drifting, earning a modest living in the retail sector and now want to, without sounding tediously cliche, broaden my horizons.

I've travelled throughout Europe - with friends and solo - and now wish to try something new, with Workaway being the natural next step, coming into your world and having a better chance to immerse myself in the local culture this way. My idea of a dream Workaway would be one where we can both learn, exchange and enjoy, not something that is merely transactional.

My skillset is broad rather than specific: a jack of all trades master of none.

I studied Geography at A level so I have an idea of environmental sustainability

Having worked in a customer service role for many years, I'm confident in customer/guest interaction

I consider myself and adaptable person, able to take on board instructions and carry out required tasks with fastidious care.

I am comfortable with pets, having shared a busy house with one, two or even three dogs at stages of my life - clinging onto two Great Danes as a toddler endeared me to domesticated-pet life. I cook for my family at home, and whilst what is served is not necessarily Michelin grade, I am confident to be in front of the stove.

A sporty and fit individual, I enjoy scenic runs, cycling and a competitive game of football. I did sustain a knee injury some months ago, but it doesn't prevent me from doing most things - yoga is about all.
