Hello! I’m 26 years old and travel obsessed. My main focus in life is to experience the world and the people in it and that fuels me. I created a travel podcast called Why We Travel to connect with travelers and that has been a passion of mine for the past year while I've been grounded at home in the US, but It's been my dream for years to travel long term through work aways and Costa Rica and Central America has been on my mind and heart. So after lots of consideration I’m currently selling all my major possessions in the US (car furniture, etc) and hoping to do work aways for a while in Central America for a lot of different intentions and reasons.

Before flipping my life on its head to full time travel, I have been working as a full time professional photographer for the past two years. I’ve shot weddings, events, real estate, products, food, restaurants, you name it- I’ve shot it! I love photography and it will definitely come with me wherever I go and I'm always happy to capture any activities or people along my journey. Along with these two main passions I love connecting with community, yoga, storytelling, and writing/poetry.

Some major places that I've traveled to in the past have been: Chile, Peru, Argentina, Micronesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Scotland, Ireland, England, Mexico, Guatemala, and Canada. I am beginner/intermediate in Spanish thanks to my 4.5 months in South America but I'm hoping to improve my Spanish during my time in Central America.

I don’t have any background in teaching English other than I spent a couple months volunteering with English learning in Chile to young children but I was just an assistant. But I’m happy to talk and speak slow if someone is wanting the practice! Or I’m happy to play games that I learned from volunteering with a child.

Photography is my biggest skill and expertise I can offer to a host as I’ve been doing it professionally for 40 hours a week for the past couple years. I’ve done some social media management for the photo company I work with as well so I can help with any promotion/social media.

I love working with people, I speak English but did spend 4.5 months in Chile in the past where I was quite conversational in Spanish and lived with a host family that solely spoke Spanish (but I’m certain I'll be a bit rusty since it's been over 5 years since I've put it to use, which will come back with being down south again).

Additional skills can be basic cleaning and simple cooking - I’m not the best cook but I can definitely cook some dishes here and there and I'm always eager to learn. I’m really excited to contribute and learn from my time doing work aways so while I don’t know anything about permaculture or farming that is something I have an intention to learn and help with in this experience.

I love animals and children and I'm happy to help with either. I rode horses for over 10 years growing up and grew up with dogs so I'm happy to help where I can.

I like to think of myself as quite open-minded and a people person. I'm hoping my time doing work aways can deepen my learning and appreciation for our Earth, people, and life. My intention is to learn a lot about agriculture, cooking, which are skills that I don't really have much experience with back home!

  I mainly eat vegetarian at home (was strict about it for years but have loosened up recently), so that said I'm open to eating meat while traveling! Currently at home I eat meat if it's sourced as ethically as possible.
