Hello!!

My name is Claire and I am a 27 year old Australian woman travelling South America for the next 10 months! I chose to travel South America (and hopefully central) for the adventure, culture, and diverse foods, animals, and landscapes!

So far in my journey in SA I have hikes through Patagonia, bike packed for a month along the Carretera Austral in Chile, road tripped through Northern Argentiana, and explored the salt flats and La Paz in Bolivia.

My future plans include exploring the amazon, Columbia, and going to Carnival in Rio! Peru, Equador, and central are all on my list but too far in the future to plan just yet!

I have taken a week Spanish course in Bolivia but would still consider my Soa ish as basic. I am fluent in English and willing and desperately wanting to continue to learn and develop my Spanish.

At home in Australia I am an occupational therapist. I have worked in the most remote areas of Australia working with our Indigenous communities with mental and physical disabilities. I work across the life span and love children and the elderly alike!

I have yet to do a Workaway in SA but I travelled Italy, America, and Europe last year and did a few and house sits. I worked in Tuscany at an olive farm, with rescue dogs in Scotland, and have done house/pet sits in Australia (working with horses, elderly dogs, veggie gardens, and birds) I absolutely adored my times here. I particularly love working at the olive farm. I loved working in the garden, with the animals, and meeting lots of new and interesting people.

I am a very hard working person who loves a challenge and learning new thing. I love meeting new people and enjoy both working in teams and independently. I love to be outside!

I am a vegetarian but am flexible.

My hobbies include hiking, running, swimming, rock climbing, cooking, reading, and writing.

My broad skills include working well with people, knowledge of gardening and cooking, working with children and animals, and working well on a fast paced environment. I have specific skills in working with children and people with disabilities and rehab.

I am so excited about my South American journey and can't wait to dive into some workaways.
