Hello

My name is Migle 😊

I am a Lithuanian, who recently left London in search of more quietude and slower pace of life as I realised that my body had been suffering from such intensity... Now I am getting ready for another adventure to keep learning and expanding! Soon I'm joining another yoga course in Ecuador. Apart from deeper knowledge and experiences, I am really looking forward to also exploring local culture and cosmology and spending so much time in beautiful tropical nature. For after the course I'm hoping to find a wonderful place where I could volunteer and share my gifts.

Here's a little bit about my inspirations:

Yoga and Meditation were my first medicine from disconnection and chaos in the mind. It helped me to completely change my life and start walking a conscious path. That's why I am so happy to be sharing these tools with other people.

Another two of my biggest loves are Dance and Cacao. Communicating with Cacao ritualistically has helped me to open my Heart to Love and let go of so much emotional weight. And Conscious Movement has been allowing me to fully embody that Love that I started experiencing.

I am very sensitive, that is why nature is my favourite place to be. I love walking barefoot and feeling the grass, sand or mud underneath my feet, swimming naked in the rivers, lakes and oceans, touching trees and ground with my hands and deeply connecting with the surroundings. This is where my kind of art is being born. Deep, authentic and raw.

I also enjoy deeply connecting to people and I love solitude and my alone time too. For me it is essential to be a part of a community and feel connected to people around me.

I am inspired by Mother Nature and passionate to allow Feminine energy to blossom on the Earth. I love organising and facilitating or participating in Women circles, where women can connect and be fully accepted in their totality. These kind of gatherings has supported me and shown the importance of sharing openly and vulnerably in a loving cummunity.

I'm devoted to my spiritual practice and I'm always looking for ways to grow. There is a deep desire in my Heart to help people with their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

I've been also initiated into Reiki II, which was extremely empowering. I'd love to offer some energy healing sessions.

At the moment, I am eager to learn permaculture, gardening and more sustainable way of living. I would love to be able to give back to the Earth as much as She gives us.

I am a yoga teacher and I offer Reiki/intuitive energy healing 🤍

Film production studies at a university in UK allowed me to developed a good eye for film and visual arts.

As for more previous work eperience, for more than 7 years I'd been in customer service jobs - I had catered in restaurants and bars, worked as a reception host or admin in various yoga studios, massage studios and gyms and even in a flower shop 🌹

Also, I had quite a few opportunities to gain experience in volunteering: hosting on community lunch projects with Foodcycle; going on an expedition to rural Fiji areas to teach in schools with ThinkPacific; helping out in a food warehouse during pandemic outbreak; preparing the rooms in a hotel in Brasil; helping to set up the space for conscious dance experiences in London.

Lately, I have been helping out my sister with her two young daughters - an experience which unexpectedly taught me many many lessons (kids are such good teachers!).

At the moment I'm very eager to learn permaculture, gardening and looking after fruit trees. Also, I would really love to learn processing Cacao!

Overall, I love throwing myself into the 'unknown waters' to gain more knowledge of the world and self. I'm always open to obtaining new skills.

I spent two weeks here and I am very happy that I got a chance to have this experience! 🙏🏼

The place is really beautiful, many trees and plants, one can feel lots of silence. There are few gorgeous Yoga shalas, a pond and a few pools, overall the environment is very clean. No wonder it can bring up some deep inner processes to go through. And… read more actually, it’s a great place to go IN!

The living conditions were okay, I was glad that we had our own private rooms and a nice bright kitchen that we shared with other volunteers. + there was a hot shower! Washing clothes was little more complicated, one could wash it by hands or take it to a laundry washing place somewhere a bit further. To get groceries we used to take a 10 minutes bus to Santa Isabel (there’s a nice huge local market with all the fresh fruits, veggies and more) or we walked to Union for 20 minutes to get a few bits from smaller shops.

Wilson and the family looked very welcoming and nice. However, I didn’t meet him too many times as he was super busy during my stay. The communication was usually done through phone, which I felt a bit of resistance to, so barely communicated at all. But other volunteers were there to support, show around and give tips.

I feel like the greatest part of the experience was that we had lots of time to bond with other volunteers. Yamila, Juan, Ksenia and Selim were such wonderful people to meet and get to know. We did many yoga practices together, had a Cacao ceremony with mantra chanting and even Sufi whirling mini workshop. It was nice to find friends that I wish to keep in contact with even after the Workaway 💚

We worked 4 hours a day which is less than in other places. Unfortunately, with the work itself I could not connect well. I did not enjoy working in the kitchen, washing dishes and cleaning with lots of sounds and rushing people around. For me it’s very exhausting. Well probably I got a more intense experience of the kitchen as we were working during the Carnaval and Wilson needed some extra help. Also, during weekdays we were working in the garden (which I enjoyed more) and were given simple tasks, however, I did not feel like I was learning much. I would have enjoyed giving daily morning yoga classes (which I was allowed to) but I did not feel ready to do it in Spanish yet. One thing to note, there’s opportunities for volunteers to offer their own projects and skills! So the work experience could be totally different.

I feel very grateful to have spent time in such a beautiful environment with such wonderful people! Some things obviously could be improved. But overall I am happy to have had this experience and I thank Wilson for putting effort into making it possible for volunteers to be part of his family business. I learned a lot from other volunteers, went through quite a deep inner process and received many realisations. This place is perfect for that ✨

What a wonderful experience! Now I know - OTRO MUNDO ES POSIBLE! My Heart is so grateful I got a chance to spend some time in this beautiful community, meet people from all around the world, gain more consciousness and knowledge of sustainability, be able to take care of the garden, cook together, eat fresh, organic, healthy, delicious vegan… read more dishes, offer yoga classes and experience a profound ceremony 🤍✨

The 2 and a half weeks at the place went by extremely quickly, however, it was definitely enough time to get attached to this place and feel like home. I’m already planning when I can come back!

From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed in a way I had not experienced in any other Workaway. Straight away I knew I am a part of the community. I was super happy to be included, over the whole time to be able to give and receive so much love and acceptance. During my stay I participated in Nicky lead Women’s circle and a Heart circle, also in a family meeting. I really liked how the community is organised and how much respect, freedom and gratitude lies underneath the structure. And that can be so clearly seen in the children that are growing there. They are the most creative, open and conscious kids I’ve ever met! Really inspiring 🙌🏻

During the whole time there, through observation my mind was able to absorb so much wisdom of how to take care of the land and Mother Earth more. It was great to find out that it’s possible to live of solar energy, use rain water and recycle nearly all of the waste. There’s many things that one can learn at the place about permaculture and land regeneration.

Everyday was exciting as we could always choose the tasks we were more interested in. I was lucky as Helen allowed me to spend most of the time in the garden (where I enjoy being the most), watering, harvesting, weeding. There are many projects one can get involved in, from adobe bio-construction, to making compost, cleaning or baking bread. With Lea we spent a few days reorganising and beautifying the Free-shop, which I was very pleased with.

Some days I offered yoga classes and I was happy with how many people came to practice. I got a chance to also lead a morning class for a big group of visitors. There is a beautiful yoga room and an amazing building called Caracola for ceremonies, yoga and events. I felt honoured to be able to lead classes in such a beautiful space.

During my days off I travelled to Otavalo for an all-night Temazcal with Medicine. I felt completely safe as I was referred to the Taita by Helen. And to be honest, it was one of the most profound ceremonies I have ever experienced! I know that these ceremonies take place in the community as well, more often than not at least once a month.

What else? The art around the community is inspiring. All the buildings are very unique. There’s nice places to meditate, create, play or just chill together. The view of the mountains, clouds and starry nights are incredible. It’s usually sunny and hot during days and it gets quite chilly at nights. Meals are always super delicious. A fruit lady comes twice a week if one wishes to buy some extra fruit. There are plenty of interesting books to read. And there are many interesting people to get to know. Also, there are hot showers! There is no WiFi and the overall phone connection is not great.

It seems there’s so much more to be said about this place! One for sure, I’ve been inspired and my Heart has been filled with hope that a different world and different ways to live are actually possible.
