Hi, we are Leigh and Megan! We love the outdoors and nature which is why we are here on a year long working holiday visa. We have explored most of New Zealand in our campervan and are looking for ways to contribute to this amazing country. Leigh has a background in engineering and loves to be hands-on and learn new skills. Megan is a nurse in the UK and has a keen interest in learning more about animal welfare and conservation. We also enjoy DIY projects and are keen to learn more about gardening and conservation in the hope of taking this knowledge and experience home with us.

Que habilidades tienes?
Leigh is practical and hands on, whether that's through a DIY project, general maintenance or gardening. She has previous experience converting a van into a campervan, building wooden structures, using machinery and tools, building engines, painting and decorating, and will be more than willing to try anything thrown her way. Megan loves to spend time with animals and is creative. She has created artwork for local businesses and took up tattooing as a side project. She is keen to learn more about growing her own veggies, protecting the planet and getting involved in creative projects.

We like mountain biking, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, just about anything outdoors. We also like playing cards, watching Big Bang Theory and reading. At home we play for a local football team, and we enjoy watching the womens football games. We are both looking for a big lifestyle and career change when we go back to the UK and we hope this experience will help us gain insight and motivation.

We had the most incredible two weeks staying at this animal sanctuary! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and quickly became attached to the animals—especially the pigs, who completely stole our hearts.
