Hi, I'm Kelsey

I'm an avid Aussie traveller who has been travelling on and off for 2 years. I'm originally from Brisbane, Australia and have travelled a little bit of Oceania and SE Asia. I love animals and have a beautiful red cattle dog at home named Bluey. I'm about to go on exchange in Switzerland in February so I'm hoping to spend some time travelling SE Asia and a little of Europe before I arrive.

I am a Peace and Conflict, International Relations Major at University and have a passion for humanitarian aid and working for charities and NGOs. I have a passion for trying to make the world a better place and I hope to do that through Workaway.

I have worked two volunteering jobs previously, one through Workaway which was assisting in gardening and other outdoor activities for a couple in Wellington. Second was working in chaperoning high school graduates in their end-of-highschool celebrations in Fiji. These were both amazing experiences but I would love to focus more on charity work and working for NGOs!

I have a B2 level proficiency in French language and am always looking to learn more languages. I am a fast learner!!

I have been learning French in University and by the time I take off on my travels I should be at a B2 proficiency. I'm always looking to improve my French speaking skills and diversify my vocabulary. I am also always looking to learn a new language, I want to be able to speak multiple languages in my lifetime and am always open to a new learning experience.

Que habilidades tienes?

I have worked in hospitality and customer service for 5 years. With these jobs, I have the basics skills of cooking and cleaning that come with the job but in addition I also have the strong social skills that allow me to build strong friendships and relationships with those around me. I have spent a couple years being team leader, training and taking young employees under my wing and foster a safe and comfortable environment for them. I go to the gym 5 days a week and I am well accustomed to the Australian heat so outdoor physical labour is something I have no objections to!

I am a very social, extroverted person and love to go out and spend time with my friends. This is shown through my personality. I love getting to know people and going out to be social, any time there is a gathering with my friends I'm always there and bringing a good time.
I am also largely into the gym going 4-5 days per week. Eating healthy and maintaining fitness are an important thing to me but I am always reasonable and can compromise for a burger or pizza!!
