Hello there!
We are a couple from Rotterdam, the port city of The Netherlands. Although we love our city, we also like to travel a lot and have seen many countries all over the world.

We love backpacking, wild camping, hiking, fishing, ice bathing, second hand shopping, baking, cooking with fresh & organic food, reading, philosophizing, yoga and meditating.

Back home Maarten is a painter and Joy owns an antique/vintage and handmade jewelry business. She also assists with different types of ceremonies. And we are eager to learn new stuff in all kind of fields!

We have a lot of workaway experience. Such a cool thing to do! Helping eachother and connecting with other people. And to be in nature brings us in harmony and happiness.

We are two open minded spirits and love to meet new people to creatie new adventures with!

We are a healthy, social & hard working couple who love allround jobs. Last year we visited a lot of Workaway addresses in Australia & New Zealand. Due to COVID19 we had to go back home unfortunately. But now we still want to try to escape our city Rotterdam because we along for a more outside living. We worked both in the hospitality branche for years. Maarten also works as a painter and Joy did 4 years business in marketing & PR. We are fit, handy, strong and healthy. Good with children and love animals. Our hobbies: Maarten loves to fish and read. Joy has a passion for vintage & second hand treasure hunting and makes jewelry from shells (which selling via Instagram: @catchbyjoy) We both like to cook, sport & know how to dance :)

We enjoyed very much to have Joy and Maarten staying for a week. They are social, friendly and easygoing and easily adapting to the life in our home. Joy and Maarten were awesome helpers. Joy is excellent at organising - sorted out my study and garage beautifully - and Maarten is great in the garden shifting wood to the wood pile, weeding , sweeping, and cleaning. Joy and Maarten were excellent in their help and we achieved much with them. Items cleared and removed. A new garden bed was made. A chook pen was put up with Maarten contributing some ideas. We found it wunderfull!! Anet and Rob are very very friendly. Beautiful food. Rob learned us some real cool stuff how to catch your bait for fishing. He has a lot of knowledge about the nature.

The most complimentary thing I can say about a Workaway experience is that it felt easy and effortless.
