Update March 30 2024 -
Looks like I will still be working near to Mauze Sur Mignon until early/mid May 2024 ( please note this is a private arrangement not via workaway)
( I have been doing lots of painting ( to a high standard) to both window shutters and to the stonework around the shutters - I have also been doing lots of gardening incl hard pruning / heavily cutting back overgrown and out of control trees shrubs and plants - now some 3 weeks later all are now happily re-producing new buds growth and greenery - Hedge trimming several large hedges and jet washing around the swimming pool slabbed area - I will also be regrouting and re bedding slabs around this area - and of course everyday gardening/weeding -

I recently returned to the UK for a short break and I am returning to France on 1 March 2024.

I will be working near to La Rochelle for a previous host for approx 6 to 8 weeks then I shall be available for any placements.

Just to confirm I own my own Renault Kangoo Van which has a valid CT and I also am in possession of the Carte Grise and I am fully insured via the Credit Agricole Bank.

I also have a valid Residence Visa ( ID Card) until March 2027 and I'm a British Passport Holder.

I also have my Carte Vitalle and my medical top up insurance is once again via my bank at Credit Agricole.

I am registered with my GP in Mussidan and I keep good health.

I can turn my hand to almost anything and I enjoyed working on various projects throughout France from June 2020 to October 2023.

I am competent at gardening ( vegetable or flowers) and can use most power tools without supervision - ( especially brush cutter for overgrown brambles etc) and I have driven several ride on mowers for large lawn areas.

I am also competent at painting indoors and externally - and have prepped and painted many a wooden window shutter.

I can also assist with basic light construction duties and I'm experienced in large concrete pours ( barn floors etc)

Please contact me if you require someone for good hard physical work - and of course everyday duties like weeding and sweeping forecourts etc.

I have my own 40 inch TV as I'm sport mad - particularly football and I have IPTV on my firestick adapter - I use my own data to stream the Internet as long as I can get a good signal - ( Reglo mobile 250gb for 19 euros a month)

I am physically fit and able and confident to carry out Garden Maintenance work to a high level plus I am experienced in the preparation and painting of window shutters/frames etc

After a long happy 15 month period in Perigueux I'm now looking for pastures new within the Southern Regions in France .

In October 2021 I recieved my Carte Vitale and in March 2022 I recieved my Carte Sejour - I also now own a Renault Kangoo Van and possess my new Carte Grise and Control Technique.My health top up and Van insurance is via my bank Credit Agricole
- so it's fair to say that I'm settled and happy with my new life in France....and the adventure continues.🤗🇫🇷

From Jan 2022 until Mid- April 2023 I was House-Sitting on a lovely big property in the countryside near to Perigueux and was also responsible for looking after the welfare of the family dog - two horses - two donkeys - a pony - 14 hens - a goose when the family were away - There were also large areas of vegetable garden which provided tomatoes- courgettes - aubergines- potatoes - onions- leeks and haricot beans - which meant lots of weeding but the end result was well worth it. I also prepared and painted the houses 20 large white shutters to the front and back of the house - kept the exterior of the property tidy and carried out whatever daily jobs were required. The family were on holíday in Costa Rica- Holland- Switzerland- Corsica and of course France , for approx 7 months of the 15 that I was at the property

I also previously worked in Beauville , near Agen , for a period of 3 months from Nov 2021 to Jan 2022 - My main work involved the sanding and preparation of the window shutters of the townhouse then the painting of the window frames , windows and shutters - I also learned additional skills and assisted Stevie ( my host) with internal building work such as replacing floor joists and beams - repairing and replacing floorboards - helping with drywall construction and boxing in pipework etc - Stevie and Greer were perfect hosts and their home cooking was just the best-

I am available for all types of Workaway projects in the South West region of France - but ideally would prefer house-sitting for periods of longer than a month.

I am enjoying my time in France and this winter I would like to travel and discover more of this region whilst helping out hosts to the best of my ability during my stay with them.

I am also experienced in looking after vacated properties and ensuring that the grounds and house are well maintained.

I am a happy hard working individual and also a team player on larger projects.

I bring experience in Gardening and Light Construction and General repair work and I am fully competent in using Strimmers and Brush cutters and Ride-On mowers.
Competent in painting house window frames - windows and shutters.

I am always happy to help and assist others and give advice to anyone.

UPDATE = OCTOBER 2020

I am very pleased to say that from Mid-October 2020 I shall be resident in the beautiful resort town of Bagnoles D'Lorne in Normandy until Mid-March 2021.

I will still be available for Workaway opportunities during this period if they are within a 50km radius of my home.

**Im happy to do anything - I enjoy a bit of manual graft as well - Happy doing gardening from weeding to pruning to grass cutting to rotovating new ground and hedge -cutting and to using brushcutters to remove overgrown brambles and nettles- I can also drive ride-on John Deere mowers - I can paint and in recent months I've specialized in the sanding and painting of outdoor window shutters and painted stairwells and a spiral staircase - and I can give more or less any place a good tidy up and clean - I can also use chainsaws following initial general instruction to ensure we are both happy prior to any job - Any general labouring task can be done with ease. I can also batch - mix and spread Concrete and lay paving slabs - and enjoy Labouring to Tradespersons.


I'm very easy going - can hold a good conversation and enjoy meeting other people. I have previously worked in The Middle East albeit a long time ago in the Construction Industry and I was also a Professional Golf Caddy on The European Ladies Golf Tour working solely for French female golfers. Another important skill I possess is respecting others and being mannerly - it's nice to be nice :)
I enjoy hard work and physical activities.
I have a good working knowledge of gardening and vegetable growing/harvesting.
