Hello hosts and Workawayers!

Although I’m Canadian I have been living in other countries for the past ten years and my passion for travel has not lessened! After living in Italy for 1.5 years, I left in January 2026 and I've been travelling ever since.

I love workaway as it allows me to combine my love for travel with my desire to collaborate with others to create, support, and grow communities. Travelling is a wonderful privilege that gives me the opportunity to learn about different cultures and expand my perspectives to include new and different ways to see the world. I am always open to listening and learning, as well as sharing my own experiences and knowledge with others. At the end of the day, all of us have more things that make us similar than make us different, and focusing on those similarities is what brings people together. I look forward to the adventures and opportunities that workaway will present!

In-depth background:
I am a TEFL-certified English teacher. I can teach all language areas (speaking, reading, writing, listening), and help with exam preparation or just conversation practice.

I'm also a workshop facilitator. Through workaway I've facilitated leadership, team-building, and communication workshops at a primary school in Uganda and on a farm in Zambia. In Uganda I also ran creative workshops with the children that focused on self-expression and confidence building. Most recently, I facilitated a workshop with UWC on understanding and solving conflict in Tanzania.

I have a lot of experience working with children. I've taught children English in person and online, and I coached children aged 2 to 8 in soccer for 6 years in Canada. I also worked at a children's horseback riding camp for 5 summers, which gave me experience working with horses as well. While living in Mexico I coached soccer for children aged 6 to 13 (in Spanish).

While living in Mexico I worked in hospitality at a restaurant and in sales at a hotel. I was also a tour guide that led hikes to local waterfalls, and I worked as a English-Spanish translator at a local jewellery store.

I can adapt to different environments and learn quickly. I love a challenge!
