Come join the mainkitchen of the svanhom community. We are a large eco-collective situated in an old mansion surrounded by forests and organic farming fields. The collective has a high degree of self-sufficiency and the mainkitchen work non-profit to process and provide food for the inhabitants of the collective. We have volunteers all year around helping in the fields, maintaining the buildings and in the kitchen.

While staying here you become part of everyday life in the community and within the group of volunteers living here. You also become an integral part of the main kitchen and the kitchen-crew, where you can learn about self-sufficiency, organic seasonal vegetables and cooking delicious homemade food for a large number of people!
In the kitchen we need help with a range of cleaning jobs, as well as cleaning and processing vegetables and other produce from the fields to support self-sufficiency.
Throughout the stay Workawayers will be educated in the different processes of the kitchen. We prepare lunch during week days and dinner three times a week, and volunteers are helping with different cooking tasks depending on their interests and skills. We prefer Workawayers staying for a minimum of 1 month, working on weekdays in return for full accommodation with healthy organic food and your own room in the community.

As a Workawayers here you get your own room and share kitchen and showers with other Workawaters. All food is provided as for rest of the collective, with lunch served all weekdays and dinner three times a week in the main kitchen. In the weekends you can freely access a large variety of foodstuffs and cook for yourself or with the other volunteers.
Our place has 400 ha land, consisting of farmland, large grazing areas, wetlands and old forests where you can take walks and enjoy nature. You can reach Copenhagen within few hours of public transport, and you can borrow a bike to explore the local area. Theres about 6 km to the coast, and 1 km to the nearest village.
