Descripción

Hi, we're Josh and Claire, a couple on a career break from England, travelling Canada in our campervan. Both in our early 30s.

We both love being outdoors. In the UK we live in the Peak District and spend lots of time hiking, climbing, trail running and wild swimming.

Before we started our career break Josh worked as a Mechanical Engineer, and Claire as a Big 4 Tax Advisor.

We are both very happy, laid back people and look forward to meeting new people along the way. Josh is very practical, through his old work as well as doing plenty of DIY in our home and garden. Claire is great at looking after gardens, plants, and animals, and looks after an allotment in the UK. We both enjoy cooking and sharing meals with friends.

Before we left for Canada Josh volunteered in a climbing club as Secretary and with engineering events for children. Claire volunteered as Treasurer and a trustee for a horse riding club for people with disabilities. In the past she has also run a volunteer student dog walking charity and volunteered as an English and Maths tutor for children.

Que habilidades tienes?

Josh:
Lots of DIY - carpentry (building cabinets and shelves), plastering, painting, wiring plugs and lights, fixing devices and car maintenance, fixing shed roofing

In my career I do lots of mechanical engineering design work sketching and using CAD, performing lots of calculations using excel etc.

I like to bake sourdough, naans, pizza, and a little bit of pastry baking in my spare time. I like to make latte art to give to Claire :)

Claire:
I love gardening, especially growing food and flowers. As well as redesigning my own garden I've had an allotment for almost 5 years where I have used both traditional and no-dig methods.

I've grown up around animals and have lots of experience caring for them, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and ponies. At university I ran a volunteer student dog walking service and have often pet sat for friends and family. Being around animals makes me happy!

I love cooking, especially trying out new recipes and sharing food with friends.

I have enjoy design and have an interest in interiors, art and garden design.

Skills from my career as a Big 4 Tax Advisor include data analysis, calculations and Excel, people management, business development and client interaction. I've also worked plenty of customer service jobs in the past and enjoy talking to people!

Josh loves climbing, running, cycling, skiing, hiking, camping, plays a little bit of guitar, is learning a bit of Italian.

Claire loves hiking, camping, crafts, yoga, skiing, travelling, reading and cooking.
