Hello!

I am a 28 year old Australian female currently living in Melbourne, I am originally from regional Victoria and have lived in the city throughout my 20s.

I am a very easy going, friendly and positive person who is looking to take a break from work to travel and see the world! I have been working in sustainability and am looking to trade in the city life to get some nature, hopefully contribute to some projects related too environmental or social sustainability, teach English and meet people from all walks of life. I am looking forward to getting my hands dirty after working in an office for the last couple of years and getting back to my country roots.

I will be arriving in Spain in May 2024 with a year long working holiday visa; I am looking to focus on learning Spanish and finding community.

I love doing yoga, going on bush walks, caring for my niece (3yrs) and nephew (6yrs), trying to learn Spanish and have recently taken up surfing, anything active in the sunshine and I am a happy girl!

I have been working in sustainability education and behavior change for the last few months, and prior to that I was a project manager for a sustainable events agency for two years and worked on major projects such as the Australian Open so I am no stranger to events and everything they encompass! Prior to my professional career, I have worked in hospitality, managed a bar, waitressed and a plethora of part time jobs; I have always loved roles in which I can connect with people and have a laugh, sharing a smile and making people feel comfortable.

I have a Bachelor in Environmental Science and a Masters degree in Sustainability; during my university studies I have volunteered in Costa RIca on a sea turtle conservation project which was incredible. I have also volunteered as a research assistant in the Peruvian Amazon which gave me a lot of hands on environmental research skills. I love conservation and am passionate about contributing to projects which have strong environmental and social values.
My tertiary education has also given me great skills in academic writing, I am not a teacher by training but am capable of assisting children and high school students with their studies; I really enjoy teaching and spending time with kids (I have two nephews and one niece who I adore).

I have been learning Spanish off and on since my undergraduate days, and will forever have the goal of immersing myself in the language and the culture of Spanish speaking countries.

I love yoga and hope to do my teacher training one day, until then ill keep practicing and would love the opportunity to practice with my workaway host! I am pretty active and have always been into exercise, hiking, gym, running - anything to keep me moving.

I am learning to surf and really love it, any chance I get to zip to the beach for a surf and I am down there! Although it is currently winter in Melbourne and very very cold; I welcome being in the warmth and surfing with my host/workaway pals!

I am a big people person, I love connecting with people and really integrating myself with a community. Part of my motivation to try workaway is to not only travel and take from a location, but to immerse myself and contribute to the community. I have done the crazy backpacker travel in my late teens, now as I get closer to 30 I travel with intention, slowly and with the hope of creating some beautiful memories.
