Hello there!!

My name is Christine and I'm currently an undergrad senior at Boston University and will be graduating in May 2024. I grew up in China and moved to the U.S. when I was 12, fluent in both mandarin Chinese and English. At school, I'm a double major in International Relations and Film&TV, specializing in documentary / social impact filmmaking. Outside of academics I enjoy hiking, camping, dancing/performing, and videography.

Traveling is my way of liberating my spirits as well as building my independence, knowledge about nature/ world cultures, and the ability to adjust to various environments. I am open-minded and passionate about diverse cultures, sustainability, and integrating myself into the local community. As a workawayer, I value communication, active learning/reflection, reliability, and protectiveness.


In terms of skills and interests,

I love childcare and would definitely consider it one of my specialty. I come from a big family with many younger siblings/cousins so taking care of children feels very natural and enjoyable to me. I'm also very interested in conscious parenting and teaching. When I did my first workaway in Kalapana (Hawai'i), I spent majority of my time taking care of two kids (age 3 and 7) and it was one of the most unforgettable and heartwarming experience ever.

I am an experienced videographer/filmmaker/editor --- ranging from narrative film, to documentary and commercial video. I'm a verified yoga instructor who have completed the 200 hours online course. However I do not have much practice when it comes to teaching but that's definitely something I want to explore more. I've been a dancer my whole life and have choreographed and taught contemporary/jazz combo classes. Trying out new dance styles, doing yoga, meditating are some of my favorite ways to exercise/destress.

I enjoy cooking and learning about cultural dishes. Gardening, farming, and learning about sustainability are also things that I would love to have more experience in.
