Hi, my name is Alexandra and I come from a little village outside Turin, Italy. After moving to Ireland and completing my degree in Social Policy and Sociology in Dublin, I decided to take a couple years off to explore the world.

I am an avid traveller with a great passion for discovering new places, learning new languages and cultures and connecting with people from all sorts of backgrounds. Event though I may appear shy at the beginning, I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone and try out new experiences.

Aside from travelling I also love watching films and TV shows, listening to music and reading. I am an active, patient and hard-working person, who feels comfortable spending time surrounded by nature.

I really look forward to meeting new people, exchanging ideas and developing new skills!

I have a degree in Social Sciences with a focus in Social Policy and Sociology. My primary skillset relates to office administration, HR, computer software and social media management gained with my professional experiences.

In the past, I also had the chance to teach languages (English, French, Spanish and German) to children in an Italian school, look after different kinds of animals in a farming setting and work in a garage.

My family is very passionate about cooking. For this reason, I enjoy making all sorts of meals to them and my friends and try out new recipes.

Since I have lived in the Italian countryside for most of my life, I have also some knowledge of gardening, house renovation, painting and crafting.

I am a patient and fast-learning worker with a great attention to detail and proactive attitude, who is also able to work independently.

This has been one of the best and most culturally-immersive Workaways I've ever been in. I could have not asked for more!
Jesús and Angie were incredibly welcoming, warm and kind. From the very beginning, they made my partner and I feel at home and three weeks with them flew away. Jesús is funny, witty and entertained us with incredible stories.… read more Angie is a sweet and talented cook, who delighted us with tasty Mexican dishes, pulque and even empanadas. Both of them were caring about our wellbeing, patient with my beginner level of Spanish and always happy to answer any of our questions and share their culture.
The work was dynamic and easy to complete. Some tasks involved taking care and feeding the animals, painting, rotating the compost, cutting and replanting magueyes for the production of pulque. One day, we even helped Angie in the restaurant! Needless to say that no day is the same and you will find plenty of things to do to help the guys.
The accommodation was simple and at times cold but we enjoyed the privacy, being surrounded by nature, the frequent visits of Carlotta (one of the two adorable cats) during the night and the daily company of their three dogs.
A special mention goes to Jocotitlán, a charming and picturesque town at the base of a sacred mountain. It was fun walking around the streets, admiring the street art and enjoying the local cuisine and culture. You can hike up to the top of the mountain and experience an incredible view of the landscape. From here we even managed a day trip to one of the sanctuaries dedicated to the monarch butterflies. An experience that I would truly recommend if you are travelling around here between November and March!
I wish a lot of love and luck to Jesús, Angie, Carlotta, Felix, Salo, Momo, Luca and the other animals and hope that our paths will cross again in the future. A big hug 🫂💕

Este ha sido uno de los mejores Workaways y de mayor inmersión cultural en los que he estado.
¡No podría haber pedido más! Jesús y Angie fueron increíblemente acogedores, cálidos y amables. Desde el primer momento nos hicieron sentir a mi pareja y a mí como en casa y las tres semanas con ellos se nos fueron volando. Jesús es divertido, ingenioso y nos entretuvo con historias increíbles. Angie es una cocinera dulce y talentosa, quien nos deleitó con ricos platos mexicanos, pulque y hasta unas empanadas. Ambos se preocupaban por nuestro bienestar, eran pacientes con mi nivel principiante de español y siempre estaban felices de responder cualquiera de nuestras preguntas y compartir su cultura.
El trabajo fue dinámico y fácil de completar. Algunas tareas involucraban cuidar y alimentar a los animales, pintar, rotar el abono, cortar y replantar magueyes para la producción de pulque. ¡Un día incluso ayudamos a Angie en el restaurante! No hace falta decir que ningún día es igual y encontrarás muchas cosas que hacer para ayudar a los chicos.
El alojamiento era sencillo y por momentos frío, pero disfrutamos de la privacidad, estar rodeados de naturaleza, las frecuentes visitas de Carlotta (una de las dos adorables gatas) durante la noche y la compañía diaria de sus tres perros.
Una mención especial merece Jocotitlán, un pueblo encantador y pintoresco al pie de una montaña sagrada. Fue divertido caminar por las calles, admirar el arte callejero y disfrutar de la cocina y la cultura locales. Puedes caminar hasta la cima de la montaña y experimentar una vista increíble del paisaje. Desde aquí incluso logramos una excursión de un día a uno de los santuarios dedicados a las mariposas monarcas. ¡Una experiencia que realmente recomendaría si viajas por aquí entre noviembre y marzo!
Les deseo mucho amor y suerte a Jesús, Angie, Carlotta, Felix, Salo, Momo, Luca y los demás animales y espero que nuestros caminos se vuelvan a cruzar en el futuro. Un fuerte abrazo 🫂💕
