I am a retired teacher, and I love teaching English and traveling. It has always been my dream to teach English in Spanish speaking countries when I retired, and now the time has arrived. I taught kindergarten and first grade for 23 years in a small farming community. Many of my students were second language learners. I recently have been teaching ESL to adults at the adult school in my town. I have had extensive training in teaching English as a second language. I spent two months in Colombia teaching English to children and adults on my first Workaway. I taught English to adults for 2 weeks in Ecuador in 2022. I am also very active on a group in Hello Talk, where I help Spanish speaking adults who are working to improve their English skills. I am very active and I enjoy dancing, hiking, ping pong, yoga and reading. I am a very positive person. I would love the opportunity to help you teach English in your project.

I went to language school in Costa Rica and Ecuador during my last two summer vacations, and I recently attended an immersion retreat in Oaxaca Mexico. love teaching English.

i have the skills to teach English to children and adults. Teaching reading at the foundational levels is one of my strengths. I know how to make learning fun and decrease the fear and reluctance that students have to try speaking a new language. I taught kindergarten and first grade students for 23 years. Many of my students came from Spanish speaking families and were learning English. I have taught English to adults in Ecuador and to adults through the Hello Talk App. I have a neutral English accent and I have helped many students with their pronunciation of English as well as improving their listening, speaking, reading, writing. I have a California teaching credential with certification for teaching English learners.

I like to play many board games and card games. Some of the games I play are Rummikube, Cribbage, backgammon, scrabble and charades. I dance salsa, bachata, merengue as well as ballroom dances and swing. I enjoy meeting people and learning about other cultures.
