I'm an active person, who enjoys meeting new people, trying new things and spending time in nature. I also love animals and working with them.

I'm studying anthropology at university in Prague. I like the Workaway idea as a kind of "slow" travelling which shows the "real" culture. I would like to get to know the culture from inside, by the people who live it. This type of travelling can make it possible.

I stayed at Nora's place for two and a half week with my dog in January / Frebruary.

There were two other workawayers coming at the same time. I was traveling by car and picked one of them, Emily, in Budapest up and we soon became really good freinds. From that time we did almost everything together. After our farmstay, we also travelled few days… read more together.

We were farmisitting the first week, while Nora was at her own volunteering in France. Her parents showed us everything we should know about the farm, and so our journey started. The beginning was a bit chaotic. We were three foreign people on a foreign farm, with some daily tasks like feeding and watering the animals twice a day, taking care of the homestead which meant making fire at two or three places, geting water from a well, making wood, cooking, cleaning... plus there was a list of works and projects around the farm, with which we could start.

I had to use myself first on the way the farm was running on and how to do the (not only) daily tasks effeciently. To get to know the foreign volunteers, and the animals.
It was a really big and interesting experinece for me, and it showed me also, what's the main reason for me to do the workaway: the hosts, their lifes, places, environ... and to spend as much time as possible together (from their own will of course! to avoid being their annoying "tail" that chases them everywhere!)

We got used to the farm rythm and it went smoothly. When Nora came back, we continued the tasks we started before her arrival. Unfortunatelly, she had some work to finish, so we spent only evenings and eating time togehter. In the end she tried her best to give us some more attention so we worked and rode the horses together, we went to church in Makó, in SPA (I can highly recommend the guided sauna) and to a nice cafe. We met some of her friends, we saw bread baking in the fire oven, we danced and sang together. We had a nice time.

Nora is a great person with a beautiful personality. I really admire the amount of skills and informations she knows despite her young age, her will to learn new skills, new languages, her will to try new things, her determination, strength, fearlessness... She is a very interesting young woman, who is a big inspiration to me! but I'm not the only one... she has a lot of interested volunteers and we can see, that she can no longer (and maybe also don't want to) give everyone so much attention.

Next to daily tasks, we were moving tiles from one place to other, trying to make a gate, then the most of the time we were debarking logs and preparing them for a new fence and of course we worked with the horses. I tried some ground work with the stallion too, that was a very strong experience for me and I'm very grateful for that opportunity!

Despite the chaotic beginnig and the searching for myself in this specific place and circumstances, I really enjoyed the stay at Nora's farm. With her and other workawayers, with the animals in the stunning Hungarian plains, where everything is so flat and bare, so you don't miss any sunrise or sunset and when the sky is clear you have a truly wonderful star view.

Zoë is kind and friendly person! Likes to work and being outside, want's to see and experience everything what is possible, she isn't afraid about anything! 👌🏼 I could relay on her, even she stayed alone on the farm for some time.

Her's dog Ajša is well mannered !!! Totally safe with other animals, people... children!

I had the pleasure of staying for two weeks in March with my dog at Carole's place.
We had a wonderful time there, everyday outside (not only with the horses, dogs and cats) in the beautiful French countryside.

I loved everything about the stay, the place (the house and nature), the animals and of course the people i got to know there.

Carole… read more has a beautiful personality. She is kind, caring, cheerful, but also funny, playful, with a lot of positive energy, great ideas and the will to learn something new although she knows so much. She was worried about her english but I think she underestimate herself... we always understood each other (or there was uncle google). We had a great time toghether, sometimes also with her partner, friends, kids and later with another workawayer Timo. I really enjoyed our evening conversations and plays with words (English, French, Czech, Dutch, sometimes also German). We laughed a lot.

I was working in my own pace in the garden, around the house, with the horses, helping with some daily tasks in the household and painting the ceiling in the new renovated building. I learned so much new there, not only some new skills around the house and in the garden, but also with the horses. I'm still looking for more natural ways to work with them (horses) and I really loved the one Carole teached me.

At the beginning I was thinking about visiting any places near the house, Carole also offered me her car, but in the end, I loved the environs so much, that I didn't need to go somewhere else - cute old stone villages with churches, hills, wild fences between the meadows, forests, big trees...

I had the opportunity that Carole took me with at some of her activities: to Nevers to watch her clown show for children, on a village celebration of the March 8, where we watched a documentary film and after then they talked about it, or on an aikido lesson which end up with some food, singing, playing instruments and dancing. So I got at very interresting places too and although I don't understand French I really enjoyed these activities and I was very thankful to be there.

The animals where also amazing, kind... the herd was beautiful to observe and every horse was a different but great teacher. I worked with all of them, but the most with Ametist. I loved her so much. She was curious, calm, happy to work but also to chilling out near me. We were riding once with Carole and then I was riding alone several times after work, Carole trusted me and I'm very greatful for that.

I have much more to write, but I think it's enough for now. I really HIGHLY RECOMMEND to visit Carole, her place and animals! It was the best choise for my second (a bit) longer workaway stay! <3
