Hi, I’m Teshawn. I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA, but have been living in a small city above Charlotte, NC for the past 4 years. I decided to take a gap year in 2022 to figure out what I wanted to do in the future and found workaway as a good way to get real life experience. I enjoy yoga, climbing trees, and hiking in the woods. I stayed at an intentional community for 5 months in 2023, and learned carpentry skills, relationship building, and dealing with rowdy 4-year-olds. I’m very motivated to learn more about self-sufficiency, and I am always looking for new experiences that allow me to grow as a person.

I’m a very physically active person, and I've done just about every sport in school that was offered (swimming, football, ultimate frisbee, squash, I could go on). I'm very fascinated with languages, and how languages can connect people to each other and other cultures. I first started learning Korean through music and became fascinated by how much more of the culture I was able to understand and be a part of because of my understanding of the language, and am now more interested in learning other languages as well.
I’ve been vegan for the past 3 years and enjoy cooking and making meals for others.
