Hi, I'm Stef (Steffie, Stefanie... whatever feels right 😊)

I'm 35 years old and have been living a nomadic life for the past 10 years. During that time I've been lucky enough to travel, live and work in nearly 40 countries around the world. Most recently, I spent the last three years living and working in the tropical rainforest of Australia, managing an eco-resort deep in the jungle.

I believe in kindness, karma and that giving always finds its way back to you. That's why I love volunteering and exchanging skills along the way. Every place and every person has something to teach us, and I'm always excited to learn new ways of living, gain inspiration, make lifelong friends (sometimes even family), and maybe one day find a place that truly feels like home.

Nature is where I feel most alive. Give me a tropical rainforest, the ocean, wildlife, a garden, or a project where I can build or create something, and I'm happy. Big cities, rushing around and living inside social boxes have never really been my thing. I believe we've become a little disconnected from what really matters. For me, life is about getting back to our roots, living honestly and sustainably, listening to nature and our instincts, and appreciating what we already have.

    A little about my experience

I've worked in international hospitality for over 15 years. I started out as a waitress and worked my way through restaurants, kitchens, bars and country pubs before becoming an Events Manager in several five-star hotels. Most recently, I managed a rainforest resort in Australia, where I was involved in pretty much every aspect of running the place.

I'm comfortable with everything from reception, housekeeping, restaurants and bars to guest relations, administration, accounting, marketing, branding and website design. I'm organised, practical and don't mind jumping in wherever I'm needed.

Outside of hospitality, my travels and hobbies have taught me plenty of hands-on skills. Over the past few years I've worked on tropical gardens, created fruit and vegetable gardens to nurture communities, help remote places to a sustainable lifestyle and enjoy clean food. I've learned a lot about rainforest maintenance, eco-building projects and general property maintenance. I'm confident using most power tools, love working outdoors and would describe myself as very hands-on, adaptable and always happy to learn something new.

I also come from a farming family and have worked on farms of all sizes while travelling. Looking after animals, being in nature and getting my hands dirty is something I genuinely enjoy.

    Languages
    🇩🇪 German (native)
    🇬🇧 English (fluent)
🇪🇸 Spanish (basic, but I'm working on it!)

I'd also love to learn more languages along the way—and if I can help teach one of mine, even better.

    Right now...

I'm trying to emigrate out of germany longterm - and taking my time to discover where in the world I'd like to put down roots next. Instead of rushing into one destination, I'm travelling through Southeast Asia and Europe, volunteering along the way to experience different communities, cultures and ways of life from the inside.

For me, volunteering is about much more than exchanging a few hours of work for a place to stay. It's about connecting with people, sharing skills, learning from one another, finding new inspiration, and experiencing what everyday life is really like in different corners of the world.

My hope is that somewhere along this journey I'll find a country, a community and a lifestyle that truly feels like home. Until then, I'm looking forward to meeting genuine people, contributing wherever I can, learning something new every day, and becoming part of projects that are built with passion and purpose.

If you think we'd be a good fit, I'd love to hear your story and learn more about what you're creating. Maybe our paths are meant to cross. 🌿😊

  • Que habilidades tienes?

I've worked in hospitality since many years, starting with
    -kitchen hand during high school
    -bartender in the evenings
-certified hotel professional (3 years apprentice)
    - 10 years in event sales and service management in 5 star hotels in a leading role
    - duty manager
-Until lately working as a partner relation manager with a NGO, who inspired a different way of interacting and travelling in my homecity, organizing events, to bring people back together and make them use their synergies.

So I am definetly bringing knowledge from a wide range of jobs from bar tending, guest service, sales and marketing, events, leading teams to cleaning toilets and serving Michelin star dinners, apart from some stories to tell 😁

Besides that I spent 6 months in the jungles of Borneo in a voluntary project saving the rainforest by building guest accommodation, doing regular jungle trekking offering tours and living a fully sustainable life style with the indigenous folks.

I am clean and love to organize things, and am good at quality management and improving business structures going as far as green management...

I can also help you with basic setup of booking.com, social media and a website if you need ( I know more than I want to - but I am not too much into that social media influencer world)

CV on request - is ready and up to date :)
