Hi, I'm Samuel, currently travelling around central Asia, travelling overland as far as I can get from London to Mparntwe/ Alice Springs, Australia, where I will be working as a hiking guide.
I have now booked a flight from Bangkok to Brisbane, where I will travel by train to Cairns then drive inland to Alice Springs. It would be great to spend some time enjoying the nature and surroundings of Cairns before heading inland to Mparntwe!
I've spent the last few years travelling around whilst working as an outdoor guide, starting out as a cycling guide in the UK, before moving to work as a cycling guide in France, then a cycling and hiking guide in New Zealand, and now I find myself working as a hiking guide in the Northern Territory of Australia. So it's been a bit of a mixed career so far filled with wonderful travel experiences and meeting some incredible people around the world!
I grew up in the UK, with a bug for exploring and adventuring, I completed my first solo travelling trip around six years ago, connecting and staying with locals. This was a new experience for me, and I loved every minute of it!
It was through working as a cycling guide in France I started to learn French and fall in love with the French culture, something I continued to explore and enjoy as much as I could, even when I moved away! I have a passion for cycling, but also climbing, hiking and the outdoors in general!
I would love to continue meeting people through adventures and exploring!

Que habilidades tienes?

I am handy at fixing and maintaining bikes, having been cycling for most of my life!
I speak English fluently, and I am very keen on continuing to build on my French ability!
I am confident and happy to talk and interact with people, a skill I have learnt from performing at weddings and private parties as a magician. Happy to share some cool magic tricks one evening!
Through working as a hiking guide at the moment I am responsible for catering to large groups for up to a week at a time, so I am confident in the kitchen, as I serve 3 course meals to clients in the Australian outback!
I have volunteered with a local conservation group for a few years, so I have experience planting trees, putting in fences, cutting hedges and general maintenance.
I also have basic DIY skills, spending lockdown in my family home building a pizza oven for so we can host little outdoor pizza parties! I am fairly practical, and happy to give any practical task you have a go!

My love of the outdoors coincides with my job, where I work as a cycling guide, taking groups of customers around the UK, France, New Zealand and Australia! I also have a degree in physical geography, so I love learning about the natural landscape and the climate. I also enjoy learning close up magic, something I have worked on as a professional magician. I play the saxophone, and love to play with others and share this passion.
