Hallo!
Mein Name ist Rainer, ich bin deutscher Staatsbürger und 50 Jahre jung. Bereits seit 2016 bin ich auf Workaway angemeldet, allerdings war ich in den letzten Jahren eher passiv – das möchte ich nun ändern und wieder aktiver neue Menschen, Orte und Erfahrungen kennenlernen.

Momentan suche ich vorrangig nach einem Gastgeber in meiner näheren Umgebung – ich lebe rund 80 Kilometer südlich von Berlin. Deshalb bin ich eher nicht an Hosts in den Alpen oder dem Schwarzwald interessiert, sondern freue mich über spannende Projekte in der Nähe.

Ich bin ein ruhiger, ausgeglichener Mensch, genieße meine Zeit in der Stille, aber genauso freue ich mich jetzt auf ein lebendiges, geselliges Umfeld. Ein Ort, an dem man gemeinsam lacht, arbeitet, sich austauscht und voneinander lernt, wäre cool. Ich bin freundlich, verantwortungsvoll, aufmerksam und kommunikativ und freue mich, neue Menschen mit offenem Herzen und Geist kennenzulernen.

In den letzten Jahren war ich auf diversen Baustellen tätig: Malerarbeiten, Holzarbeiten, kleinere Bau- oder Reparaturaufgaben – auch als Hausmeister für ein kleines Kinderheim war ich die letzten Jahre angestellt. Ich bin kein Fachmann in einem bestimmten Bereich, aber ich bringe handwerkliches Geschick und Lernbereitschaft mit.

Leider muss ich Rücksicht auf eine ältere Verletzung am rechten Handgelenk nehmen, obwohl ich gerade versuche es mit einem medizinischen Elektroreizgerät zu heilen.
Deswegen falle ich bedauerlicherweise für Arbeiten, wie 5h Holzhacken, viel mit einer Blechschere schneiden und Ähnliches aus.
Für normale Arbeiten finde ich immer einen Weg. Meine linke Hand kann vieles ausgleichen, und ich habe gelernt, damit gut zurechtzukommen.
Ansonsten vielleicht mal direkt anfragen, wenn Zweifel bestehen

Persönlich interessiere ich mich seit vielen Jahren für Zen-Buddhismus und die Philosophie von Jiddu Krishnamurti – diese Themen begleiten mich in meinem Alltag, darüber hinaus bin ich auch weiterhin interessiert, meinen Zugang in die Spriritualität zu vertiefen.
Allerdings thematisiere ich das eher nicht in meinem Alltag.

Außerdem bin ich zertifizierter Yogalehrer, auch wenn ich bisher wenig unterrichtet habe. Trotzdem praktiziere ich regelmäßig und bin offen, in diesem Bereich wieder aktiver zu werden.

Kochen gehört zu meinen Leidenschaften – ich habe schon öfter für Gruppen bis zu acht Personen gekocht und mache das sehr gerne. Seit letztem Jahr besitze ich sogar einen Outdoor 12-kW-Wok-Brenner und experimentiere gerne damit herum. Allerdings bin ich da noch in der Übungsphase, was nicht heißt, dass das Essen nicht schmeckt. 😉 Aber beim Wok schwenken kann es schon mal passieren, dass der Inhalt auf dem Boden landet.

Was meine Zukunft betrifft, bin ich offen: Wieder einmal weiß ich nicht genau, wohin die Reise geht. Aber die letzten Jahre haben gezeigt, dass ich auch gerne woanders alt werden kann als hier.
Und anscheinend ist jetzt die Zeit, um wieder mehr unterwegs zu sein, Neues zu entdecken und mich auf inspirierende Begegnungen einzulassen.

Ich hoffe darauf, ein gutes und angenehmes Arbeits- und Wohnumfeld kennenzulernen, wie auch angenehme Menschen und das vielleicht bei dir oder euch!

My name is Rainer. I am a German citizen and now a half century young. I have been a registered user on workaway since 2016, but I didn't do much workaway the last 5 years, but now I want to be more active.

Presently, I am more focused, on finding a host not too far away from the place where I live. Right now, I live some 80 km below Berlin, so I don't look primarily to find a place near the alps or in the black forest.

I enjoy having my peace in general, but, I guess I would be happy now, to find a place, that is fun to be, and a bubbly and social place. I am an easy-going, responsible, attentive, communicative, and nice guy, and I'm looking forward to making new friends with open hearts and an open mindset to have good conversations.

Furthermore, I worked the last years, on some construction sides, did some painting jobs, woodworking, and other tasks. Additionally, I had even a job as a handyman, but I am not really an expert or overqualified in anything. Rather than that, I have some knowledge of everything.

Still interested in learning new things and new techniques and skills. I have to admit that the wrist of my right hand has been damaged for a long time. I'm still trying to heal it, and it is getting better from time to time. It doesn't affect normal working tasks, but jobs like wood chopping for 5 hours a day is definitely too much strain. Normally, I can compensate for the handicap with my left hand, and I am fine with that because it works.


I am quite interested in Zen and the philosophy of Jiddu Krishnamurti and that already a long time, I am still looking forward to learning more about that topic.
Beside that I am a certified yoga teacher, but I haven't done much teaching in my life, but I still like to practice, and I am open to going more in this direction.

I have experience of cooking for up to 8 people regularly, and I am happy to do it. Since last year, I am the owner of a 12 KW outdoor Wok burner, but I am still practicing on that and regard myself there as a beginner. 

The plans for the rest of my life, must still be made, and more and more I feel I don't mind much to get in a different place old, than that I am now. And now, perhaps, a time is coming to do more traveling.

Que habilidades tienes?

I have experience in renovations and construction, did some painting, woodwork, plastering, paving, bricklaying, electric installations.
I worked on farms with animals, collected plants, chopped wood, strimmed properties, arranged lawns, planted trees and cut others back.

For one month I helped in a vegan community that has a restaurant, with party catering. While I am not a chef, I can cook too for single households or small groups.
I am affin with computers and a Linux fan and can help you there.

Since 5 years now I am a certified yoga teacher, with not so much teaching experience, but I would like to change that.
I had time in my life where I painted quite a lot, and if you want a simpler mural in your home, I can do that too.

I have some allergies, a problem is when I have to work with hay, and dust-laden bedrooms and of course dusty beds are a problem for me.
And I am a vegeterian.
