Hello, my name is Pomeline. I'm 34 years old and I'm open-minded and adventurous.

I work as a teacher of French as a foreign language and events coordinator at a university in Paris. Previously, I taught in different countries for several years (USA, Argentina, England, Canary Islands).

I'll be on vacation at the beginning of August, and I'd like to take advantage of this time to get closer to animals and help them. Last summer, I had the chance to volunteer at an animal mediation association that takes in donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens and rabbits. I took part in feeding and caring for the animals (medication, brushing) and also created web content for the association.

Since last September, I've been a regular volunteer in a wildlife care association, where I feed and care for hedgehogs, pigeons, crows, owls, sparrowhawks... I'm learning a lot, especially how to care for animals in a way that avoids causing stress as much as possible.

I'm a calm and focused person, practicing yoga, meditation, writing and reading. I have recently finished reading Considering Animals by Emilie Dardenne, which deals with the ethics and politics of animal life, and which I really enjoyed.

Generally speaking, I love learning new things and discovering other perspectives on life through my exchanges with people. I also enjoy nature activities, painting, DIY and foreign languages (I'm learning Swedish at the moment).

Bonjour, je m'appelle Pomeline. J'ai 34 ans et je suis ouverte d'esprit et aventureuse.

Je travaille comme professeur de français langue étrangère et coordinatrice d'événements dans une université à Paris. Auparavant, j'ai enseigné dans différents pays pendant plusieurs années (États-Unis, Argentine, Angleterre, Canaries).

Je serai en congé début août et je souhaite profiter de ce temps pour passer mon temps près des animaux et les aider. L'été dernier, j’ai eu la chance de faire du bénévolat dans une association de médiation animale recueillant des ânes, des chèvres, des moutons, des poules et des lapins. Je participais au nourrissage et au soin des animaux (médicaments, brossage) et j'ai également créé du contenu web pour l'association.

Depuis septembre dernier, je suis bénévole régulière dans une association de soin à la faune sauvage, Faune Alfort, où je nettoie les cages et je soigne et nourris les hérissons, pigeons, corneilles, chouettes, éperviers… J’apprends beaucoup de choses et particulièrement à soigner les animaux en leur évitant le plus possible de stress.

Je suis une personne calme et focus, pratiquant le yoga, la méditation, l'écriture et la lecture. L'une de mes lectures récentes est Considérer les animaux d'Emilie Dardenne, qui traite de l'éthique et de la politique de la vie animale, et que j'ai beaucoup aimée.

De manière générale, j'aime apprendre de nouvelles choses et découvrir d'autres perspectives de vie à travers mes échanges avec les gens. J'aime aussi les activités de nature, la peinture, le DIY et les langues étrangères (j'apprends le suédois en ce moment).

Je suis titulaire d'un Master en didactique. J'ai enseigné à des jeunes et à des adultes. J'ai également des connaissances dans le soin aux animaux d'après mes expériences passées dans une association de médiation animale et un centre de soin à la faune sauvage. Voyageuse expérimentée. Estuve en el refugio durante tres semanas en agosto de 2025. Por las mañanas, los voluntarios alimentant a los animales y limpian los recintos (normalmente de 8h a 11h o 12h). También hay tareas por la tarde, pero sólo 4 tardes de cada 7 (recoger donativos de la merma o dar la merienda a ciertos animales). Hay dos días libres a la semana.

Pomeline was an incredible volunteer. We were very happy and lucky to have her with us last summer. She got very quickly the tasks about animal feeding and cleaning. She is truly an animal lover, a good observer, and I could very fast trust her to take care of all our furry friends on her own.

Pomeline was also very volunteer to offer help with… read more any other task like cooking at home, helping with the website, pedagogical signs about the animals, creating presentation of our animals with Canva, or creating new pages on our Helloasso account (a french platform for associations).

She also was a great help with our visitors (children and disabled people), when I had zootherapy sessions, child camp or pedagogical visits. She has a natural care for others and was always very sweet and helpful with our visitors, both of us and other volunteers.

Above all, we got along well very soon. She is very interesting to talk to, curious to learn about animals, activities we offer here....

Pomeline était une volontaire incroyable. Nous avons été très heureux et chanceux de l'avoir parmi nous l'été dernier. Elle a vite compris et retenu les différents soins aux animaux (nourrissage, nettoyage...). J'ai pu voir tout de suite son sincère amour pour les animaux et son sens de l'observation, ce qui m'a donné très vite confiance en elle pour s'occuper de nos amis poilus et plumés en autonomie.

Pomeline était aussi très volontaire pour proposer son aide avec n'importe quelle autre tâche, que ce soit la cuisine à la maison, de l'aide avec notre site internet, des pancartes pédagogiques au sujet des animaux, créer des présentations de chaque animal sur Canva ou encore créer des nouveaux formulaires sur la plateforme helloasso.

Egalement d'une super aide avec nos visiteurs -enfants, personnes handicapées...- lors de nos activités (médiation animale, mini camp d'été pour les enfants, visites pédagogiques...). Elle a une bienveillance et une douceur naturelle, tant avec nos différents publics que nous deux ou les autres volontaires.

Enfin et surtout, nous nous sommes vite bien entendus. C'était très intéressant d'échanger avec elle et nous avons naturellement bien accroché. Elle était très curieuse d'apprendre au sujet des animaux, de nos activités...
Mille mercis Pomeline pour ces moments partagés et pour toute ton aide précieuse. Tu seras toujours la bienvenue chez nous ! :)

I volunteered at Arnaud and Gwen's association, last August for 2 weeks. It was a great experience and I was very happy with the tasks. On a typical day, I would walk Kinaï the (cutest) dog to go to the meadows (a 10-15 min walk from the house), feed the hens, the roosters and the rabbits, do some cleaning (for e.g. the henhouse or less frequently… read more the sheep shelter), brush the lovely donkeys (they love it) or make sure everything was going well with the adorable goats (they're very friendly!). Since it was summer, we change the water for the animals pretty much every day.

If a public visit was planned, I would help Gwen before the visit and sometimes during the visiting. I would highly recommend to attend the animal mediation visits when possible. It was rewarding to see the connections between people (children, people with disabilities, families...) and animals. Gwen also has a lot of knowledge to share about animals and I felt priviledge to exchange with her.
During lunch break, I was free to do whatever I wanted. Then I would go back to the meadow around 5-6pm to feed the animals and taking care of them (Ficus the angora goat was ill when I was there and he needed specific medical care).

There is vegetable garden where it's also possible to do tasks, such as watering the plants, create alleys or setting a protection grating so Scotty the goat and the hens do not use the plants as a buffet! You can also help out with the website or by taking photos.

If you feel comfortable with it, Gwen always has suggestions to be more involved in the animal caring. I had the chance to try my hand at hoof trimming and I walk the donkeys to get Jacquot accustomed with being out of his enclosure. I loved it!

In a few words, Gwen and Arnaud are welcoming people who will make you feel comfortable and have a real love and interest about nature and animals. I thank them for trusting me during these two weeks!

J'ai fait du bénévolat dans l'association d'Arnaud et Gwen, en août dernier pendant 2 semaines. C'était une expérience géniale et j'étais très contente des tâches qui m'ont été confiées. Lors d'une journée typique, je promenais Kinaï l'adorable toutou jusqu'aux prairies (à 10-15 minutes de marche de la maison), je nourrissais les poules, les coqs et les lapins, je faisais du nettoyage (par exemple dans le poulailler ou plus rarement dans l’abri des moutons), je brossais les ânes (ils adorent ça) ou je vérifiais que tout allait bien chez les chèvres (très avenantes et sympathiques). Comme c'était l'été, nous changions l'eau pour les animaux presque tous les jours.

Si une visite était prévue, j'aidais Gwen avant la visite et parfois pendant la visite. Je recommande vivement d'assister aux visites de médiation animale lorsque c'est possible. Très gratifiant de voir les liens entre les gens (enfants, personnes handicapées, familles...) et les animaux. Gwen a également beaucoup de connaissances à partager sur les animaux et c'était un privilège de pouvoir échanger avec elle.
Pendant la pause déjeuner, j'étais libre de faire ce que je voulais. Puis je retournais aux prairies vers 17h-18h pour nourrir les animaux et m'occuper d'eux (Ficus la chèvre angora était malade quand j'étais là et elle avait besoin de soins médicaux spécifiques).

Il y a un potager où il est également possible de faire différentes tâches, comme arroser les plantes, créer des allées ou installer une grille de protection pour que Scotty la chèvre et les poules ne se servent pas des plantes comme d'un buffet ! Il est aussi possible de donner un coup de main avec le site internet ou en prenant des photos.

Si vous vous sentez à l'aise, Gwen a toujours des suggestions pour vous impliquer davantage dans les soins aux animaux. J'ai eu l'occasion de m'essayer au parage des sabots et de promener les ânes pour habituer Jacquot à sortir de son enclos. J'ai adoré !

En quelques mots, Gwen et Arnaud sont des personnes accueillantes qui vous mettront à l'aise et qui ont un réel amour et intérêt pour la nature et les animaux. Merci de m'avoir fait confiance pendant ces deux semaines !
