Hi!

My name is Milan, 30 years old, and born and raised in the Netherlands. Up until now my life has been a curvy road past many different jobs and interests, rather than a straight line towards a single goal. I always try to follow my heart first and my head second, and apparently I have a heart that wants to try out many things. The things I keep coming back to though are connecting with other people through joy, spirituality, music, food and mutual help. I'm happiest when surrounded by close friends, nature, and good books.

I studied bass guitar at the conservatory of Amsterdam, and after that I played live with many bands and taught various instruments, mainly to kids. I also taught music in juvenile detention, where I discovered I really like working with underprivileged youth. This resulted in me ending up working for a foundation where I created classes about self-development for students in the poorer areas of Amsterdam.

In my spare time I love reading a lot. Philosophy and spirituality are my favourite subjects and I incorporate what I read in my daily life as much as possible (meditation, journaling, etc.). Over the next few years I want to investigate this part of me even more, so after the summer I will start my masters in Spiritual Care at the University of Amsterdam.

Last but not least something about my current living situation. Since January 1st I live with my grandfather who has dementia and his husband in Haarlem. I spent a lot of time with him, which is very dear to me. I think family and taking care of each other is very important and often overlooked in our busy, self-oriented society.

What I already encountered numerous times in my professional life is being confirmed by the time I get to spent with him now: as people we are made to care for each other and our environment, and I'm happiest if I dedicate myself to those values.

Que habilidades tienes?

- I'm a professional musician. My main instrument is electrical bass-guitar, but I can teach guitar, piano and drums at a beginner level as well.

- I'm a very creative person and like to share my creativity with others.

- I taught pretty much every age between 4-20 years, so I'm good with children (and like them a lot too ;) )

- During corona times I worked with a professional carpenter, so I have basic skills in that area (mainly wood-work).

- I worked in multiple restaurants, so I now my way around a kitchen.
