Hi there,

I'm Annalena (or short Anna :)), a travel enthusiast from Germany. I live in Halle in the beautiful East of Germany, but since I'm working remotely as a book editor, I love to use my freedom to travel and get a glimpse of different cultures and people.

I have done several workaways (some on a different platform though) over the years and have worked as an Au-Pair in Dublin, helped out on a farm with chickens, rabbits and buildings to renovate on a small Norwegian island and have been volunteering on a permaculture farm in Sweden. The last farm is also a place where I made fast friends with the owners (and their adorable animals) so I have visited every year since and have also been house and animal sitting for them several times. As you see, I really love making connections with new people and have some experience already that will be helpful in adjusting to your projects and lifestyle.

I'm very creative and organized. As a freelancer I'm used to working methodically and efficiently, but also to be very empathetic and understanding with all people I work with. I'm a tea person, I love reading (if the book editor thing did not already give that away^^), cooking and trying new (vegetarian/vegan) recipes and exploring nature on long walks. Also, I take every chance I get to do something creative, like writing, crafting, playing the ukulele, or trying to up my skills in watercoloring.

I love getting to know the people I'm around (aka you and maybe other workawayers) over dinner, a shared movie or some board games, but I also enjoy some quiet time. I care a lot about sustainability and am interested to learn about ecological farming and living a self-sufficient life. I found that on Workaway, most hosts have a lot of valuable knowledge to share about this and I'm always happy to learn from my hosts, be it practical skills or just a new perspective on life.

I'm very reliable and take my responsibilities seriously. Also I've been living on my own and in shared flats already, so I know how important good communication and doing the dishes is ;)

Que habilidades tienes?

I grew up in the countryside and have always helped out with planting, weeding, harvesting and all other kinds of work in our family's garden. Working outside is nothing new to me and I am not afraid of hard work.

Since I have always worked (and travelled) during college, I also gained some experience in other fields:

I've lived in Dublin for a year as an Au-Pair, where I have taken care of 3 girls aged 5-11. I love spending time with children and helping them grow and learn as best as I can.

I've been working in a hotel and a BnB in brrakfast service and supporting in the kitchen for brrakfast as well as dinner meals in the BnB. I've also been working in a crepe booth sesonally and loved the experience :)

Thanks to Workaway, I now also have some experience with taking care of animals (goats, chickens, rabbits, cats) and permaculture farming, but would love to deepen that.

I'm a keen learner and always open to trying new things and mastering new skills.
