Hello Everyone,
Our names are Matthew and Kristy.

We are experienced travelers who have been living and working as teachers in Thailand for the last few months and are now travelling through other countries in South East Asia. In particular, we are looking for other ways continue travelling while getting more involved in the local communities and learning new skills.

We are very outgoing and adventurous people who love to experience new places as much as possible. We love to explore nature and can happily spend hours wandering about looking for insects, plants and mushrooms.

Matthew is a scientist by training but apart from teaching English he also has experience with administration, customer service, some general handyman jobs and cleaning. While he's no trained chef, he is a very good cook, which is one of the reasons for why he's fascinated by local cuisines.

Kristy is a teacher and a digital artist, is very crafty and great with her hands. She has 10 years of experience in the hotel industry both with customer service and administration. She has even set up a new hotel from scratch. She's fantastic with children, has worked jobs as a nanny in the past and her teaching job in Thailand involved kindergarten level kids. She also has a music school education and is great with animals.

We both love exploring new places and trying local foods. We don't shy away from a challenge and love learning and practicing new skills. We both live for new experiences every day and are very warm and friendly people. We're sure we can make ourselves useful in any community.

Que habilidades tienes?

Matthew:
Has worked as a cleaner, lab technician, administrator and teacher. Has experience working in customer service and working with children in extra curriculur activities such as drama and music. Recently completed the PADI open water diver course. Has a bachelors degree in Biomedical Science and a masters in Biomedical Engineering. We've taken part in a workaway where he did angle grinding, fence post installation, sanding, painting and varnishing. He also remade a bamboo pipe and completed a design on it with a dremel. He has a very hands on attitude and is always ready to take on any task.

Kristy:
Has a decade of experience in the hotel industry Including housekeeping, reception, management and has even set up an entire hotel from scratch. Has also worked in child care, as a veterinary assistant and as a teacher. Loves foraging for mushrooms and other plants, as well as taking care of plants at home. Digital artist, 8 years of music school. Recently completed the PADI open water diving course. Has a bachelors degree in English literature, journalism and creative writing. Has a drivers licence (but hasn't driven in quite a while). In a recent workaway I had to create a fairy hotel in a tree at a fairy themed homestay called magic forest and I created miniature doors, windows, hammocks, chairs, balconies, swings and ladders all over a tree. She adores working with her hands and loves learning new skills especially when it comes to art.

We both love to play card, dice and board games. We feel these are great ways to break the ice and would love to teach games we know as well as learn new ones. Matthew is currently learning to play the ocarina and has a pocket microscope which he likes to use to investigate the nature world.
