Hi, I'm Lucy, I am a down-to-earth, warm, light, and gentle soul who absolutely loves being around people, being creative and living as close to nature as I possibly can. I am most at home with my hands in the soil, my spirit amongst the trees and my mind around kind and open-hearted people.

I have been using WorkAway for some years now, firstly in Southeast Asia and in more recent years to help me find community and spaces in the U.K that allow me to live in a way that resonates. I long for community and group projects that come from the heart and soul. I really love to share space with people openly and work in tune with all that surrounds us.

I have my fair bit of experience. From hospitality, customer service, cleaning, and housekeeping, to tending to the land, growing vegetables (permaculture values), helping to build eco structures, and managing compost and compost toilets. I also have good experience in being with and caring for children.

I have spent time studying Yoga in India and really enjoy theological discussions involving what I know of these amazing ancient teachings, but also how they relate to other philosophical and religious ways of thinking. Previous to community, more off-grid living, I worked in Mental health support for a year and am interested in merging all of these worlds.

I am a really hard worker and happy to get stuck in with any task (and even more in my element if it's physical, hands-on with nature, or creative).

I love nothing more than being sat round a fire with music and singing, laughing, dancing, all that juicy stuff.

I look forward to crossing paths with you and sharing what we have to offer this world.

I am building a good knowledge of growing vegetables and tending to the land. I have experience with both commercial growing and harvesting as well as small-holdings and market gardens. This includes crop planning, propagation, planting, managing, harvesting, cleaning and packing. As well as soil health, crop rotations, compost creation, crop maintenance and protection, companion planting and irrigation.

I would love some more experience with farm animals and using animals to help manage the land.

I've had many jobs in my time so far - from mental health support work to marketing and brand strategy, waitressing and bar work to retail and cleaning/housekeeping.

I have spent some long periods studying at a Yoga School in south India, I am a qualified teacher, and love exploring and sharing the Yoga philosophy with people, as well as how this compliments or helps us understand other religious concepts and spiritual ideas.

Lots of experience looking after young mini-humans - I have a 3-year-old nephew and a 8-year-old niece.

I love being creative and making things with my hands. I often make dreamcatchers and wall hangings from foraged items in the forest. I love drawing, doodling, and water painting. I also love storytelling and myth and am exploring the power of using myth to connect to nature. I often write little short stories to go with pictures I take in the forest.

I am fit and healthy and can work long hours.
