ABOUT ME

I am Laia Shamirian a 35-years old food writer born in Barcelona. I studied science and nutrition, fields I still love. I also love cooking new recipes (and sharing the results), learning all about the food traditions from a new place and writing. At the moment I make side incomes thanks to writing SEO friendly content about gastronomy for online spanish magazines. Oh, I do love coffee as well. I think Italy is responsible for that last one. Since I move to Florence one year ago having a couple of macchiatos per day became the most natural habit ever. Glad it happened, is so goood.

In the past I had the chance to travel to India for almost a year, a bit of Costa Rica, Nepal and Israel. It was always very fulfilling. Since pandemics I basically volunteer in nature projects around Spain and a bit in Italy when I first moved in in May 2023. This year 2024 I also had the amazing chance of volunteering at Co404 San Cristobal de las Casas & Oaxaca. I wanna cry of happiness just remembering those guys, thoses places and how amazing and beautiful it was to be surrounded by all those fantastic digital creative nomads.

Now, let me show you more specifically how I helped in the other workaways:


WORKAWAY & OTHER EXPERIENCES

- As a receptionist and welcoming guest + organising activities and excurions. I took care of hostels in Costa Rica, India, Florence, Spain. In Spain, I was in fact an Albergue in the Camino the Santiago. Also at Co404 in México.

- I have helped in Pais Valencia in different projects that involved olive picking, gardening, taking care of dogs and for a short time some audio edition between 2020 and 2021.

- I took care of children in India at Blossom Spring NGO and in Masnou, Catalonia with a family of climibing lovers. That happened sometime between 2017 - 2019

At the moment, for these Christmas I am looking for a quite enviorment (like, active but not noisy as a city center) where inner grow is something that flows naturally and where I can help with my cooking, taking care skills + social/digital knowledge. I mean, well, if someone is also interested in listeting about food culture, astrology, creating a food travel agency or doing events around food writing I am all yours!
