Hello!

My name is Jakub and I am from Czech Republic. Im 23 years old. I would call myself an adventurer, as I love exploring countries in different, more in-depth way.

I'm relatively new to Workaway and my first experience with volunteering was in Nepal. In Nepal I worked as a teacher in a Montessori Primary school. It was a real eye-opening experience and I loved every part of it.

Since then I have been studying English and education closely and I even worked as a teacher in a language school in my hometown. Later this year I'm going to University to study education.

The main reason I'm on Workaway is to learn and trying to improve myself. I'm always open to new experiences and interesting ideas. Keeping a curious mind and seeing every opportunity as a chance to learn is something I really enjoy.

As for my hobbies, I really enjoy hiking, being in nature, music, reading, skating, art, and gym. I'm trying to keep a positive outlook on life even as the world is going more and more crazy each year, I still believe in beauty, love and intelligence.

I don't like stupid, over-sensitive and arrogant/pretentious people.

I have a culinary school, but I'm NOT a cook. I worked in some restaurants in Czech Republic, Germany and Netherlands. Cooking is something I enjoy, but I treat it as a hobby.

I'm physically active therefore I always try to keep myself in shape. Hard-labour or physically demanding activities are not a problem for me. I have some knowledge with maintainence, gardening, construction etc..

I'm a beginner teacher and I enjoy teaching kids and youth. This is something I would like to do as a career for some time in the near future.

I'm social and easy-going, I'm open with any help that is required. I also like to share my experiences and Czech traditions as well.

My hobbies include:

Filmmaking: Me and my friends did some really amateur action movies, which were really funny and ridiculous.

Harmonica: I can play small harmonica a little bit, some small jams/grooves to the campfire or throughout the journey.

Music: I'm a music nerd. I like a lot of stuff. I really like Blues, Metal, Ambient, Country, Rock, Electro and generally 50s-90s music. I'm also interested in musical instruments.

Hiking: I really like hiking. I hiked a lot in my country. Taking just a bag with stuff and go, have a campfire in the evening and sleep under trees. I really enjoy that.
