Hi! I am Kristien (41 years old), from the Netherlands. When I was younger I travelled a lot (mostly in Latin American countries) and did some volunteer work abroad (in Italy and Thailand). Last 15 years I worked in academia (Utrecht University, criminal law/juvenile law), so had less time for travelling. But now I have quit my job (August 2024), wanted a change for some months. I did two projects in Spain: a renovation project and a workaway project assisting with cooking. I also participated in a regeneration week at Cal Tut in Mieres, Spain.

More recently I came into contact with breathwork. I became a breathwork coach and gave breathwork lessons in a yogaschool. I am currently following an online somatic practitioner training. So I am focusing more on the body, less on the (academic) mind.

I love being outside in nature with animals, hiking, windsurfing/canoeing/stand up paddling, doing yoga/mobility excercises. I also like watching art house movies and documentaries, and reading books (fiction and study/personal development).

As for Workaway projects: I would love to work with my hands, preferably outdoors. I am eager to learn, self-reliant, sociable, I have good communication and organisational skills, an eye for details and for the bigger picture.
